Qua Russaw-You can see the strength and athleticism in him. Barring injury, the dude's gonna be a freshman All American.

Keon Sabb-IMO, he was better than advertised. Really impressed with him. Looks smart and always around the ball. Probably should have had at least one more INT but looked great last night.

Red Morgan-Loved seeing him in there early last night. Looked pretty good and IMO, has a bit of a cocky attitude which is kind of what you need out there. He made a few mistakes but overall, looked good.

Ryan Williams-Holy cow. Slim Reaper 2.0 out there. Dude lived up to the hype and then some.

Justice Haynes-looked great. So nice to see a RB that can take it to the house along with Jam Miller.

Cole Adams as puunt returner-looked good. Made a few tough catches, has good speed and has balls the size of tractor trailers. Looked like he was a block away from busting a long return.

Anyway, there are others but those stood out to me with most of them being new guys.

#22 Overton is going to be a load in this defense's strong side end role. 6-5 285lb, long arms, lots of power, enough speed to abuse RTs and TEs who play him for the power moves. He'll benefit from having Latham to rotate with at that position.

Despite losing a lot of edge players over the last 2 seasons, we've done a good job recruiting there. Plus the new scheme allows a few of our bigger body linemen to play on the edge, so Latham and Overton aren't resigned to just eating double teams to work a Sam or Jack OLB open.

Seeing 22 and 23 on the defensive interior was weird. Overton and Smith were great though.

Some other, less heralded guys who played well last night:

James Smith - big, physical, disruptive DL. We can never have enough of those. Surprised by his early PT and impact. Dude looks like he has a good motor.

Bray Hubbard - came up and made some good tackles around the LOS. Nice instincts and angles. Also got early PT.

Lonergan - this kid is always poised. Looks a lot better than most young 3rd string QBs.

Oatis will end up having a role on the interior too. I don't remember seeing him a ton last night.

Cole Adams is really good. People have compared him to Slade Bolden and that is so far from the truth. Cole is so much faster and more athletic than Slade. Russaw looked awesome last night. I was pleasantly surprised to see him starting but I’m all for it. Cayden Jones looked really good in there. This team is loaded.

Cole has some swagger.

The WRs as a whole seem to have a lot of it. Did we have any drops yesterday? (Scott had 1 i think) The whole group did well with blocking, catching, and YAC.

Caleb Odom looks like Kyle Pitts on the field. Not sure if he has that speed, but it looks good so far.

Nice to see all those guys get their feet wet.

Bray Hubbard - An absolute thumper. People thought I was crazy for saying to look out for him. The safeties coach knows how to develop and I expect him to be really good when it's all said and done.

Ty Simpson - He has so much CONFIDENCE in his game and it shows. He's a natural sprayer at quarterback and he has deceptive speed. Perfect fit for this offense.

Cole Adams - I see why coaches love him. He's not scared of anything. You can tell he's a natural returner and if he ever gets the proper blocking...HE'S GONE!

Buck Robinson - I think he's not valued enough. His motor is crazy and he has a great first step. He can get to the quarterback, cover running backs, and set the edge.

Zabien Brown - He had sticky coverage all night long. I see why coaches love him. He could've had an interception as well but Saab got it instead but overall I was very impressed.

Caleb Odom - Big guy! He flashed great potential as a receiver but in order to be a complete one he has to get better at blocking.

Justin Jefferson - This guy here can move! He missed a lot of tackles but he's there on top of the guy in a hurry so he just got to throttle down sometimes and wrap up. His potential is through the roof!

Jaylen Mbakwe - He looked good in coverage after not playing the position much his senior year in high school. He's very sticky in man to man coverage!

Devonta Smith - He had a great first game. Sticky coverage all game. Physical at the line of scrimmage against the run and he's physical in man coverage.

Wilky Formby - He looked like a young Barrett Jones. I was impressed with him all game long. His pass protection was good and he pulled on some of those big runs and looked natural doing it.

Parker Brailsford - He had a couple of funky snaps but not many. He's tuff and strong as an ox it seems. He can handle his own versus anybody. He did good in the run and pass game blocking wise.

I thought that Daniel Hill and Kevin Riley looked good. Riley clearly needs a redshirt year but he has really good burst. Hill is a load.

Riley might win a race between all the RBs. He seems like a classic change of pace 3rd down back. Reminds me of Travis Minor, for anyone old enough to remember him (a NOLA guy who went to FSU).

Odom is physically gifted but he whiffed on a block in the second half that nearly got Prentice knocked out. If he can continue to improve on the technical side of things he will be a factor.

On defense Russaw and Overton stood out. Overton laid some big hits. Sabb of course too.

On offense Haynes, Jam, Law and Williams all impressed.

I realize this is WKU, but was expecting more like a 45-14 type game. 63-0 is exceptional.

It appears the book can be closed on Nick's seniority system.

Oh, and who told the DL they can raise their arms when rushing the passer?

Jihaad Campbell played fast and was everywhere last night. I know he’s always been a dude, but played more free yesterday.

I mean they're a decent enough G-5 program. They've made a bowl every year under their current coach and usually win 8-9 games. They'd probably beat the shite out of teams like Alabama A&M or Furman.

So Ty's performance last night impressed you, vs Jalens? People are just trolling now

Ty catches his balance better than anyone on the team. Austin Mack though showed he was the future though.
