Welcome to the first Game Discussion Thread of the new season! I'm kinda happy that Chicken PMed me because I wouldn't have figured out how to do this anyways.
YOUR FIGHTING TEXAS AGGIES ARE AT HOME AGAINST #7 NOTRE DAME. THEY START OUT THE ELKO ERA WITH A GAME FOR THE AGES, A BLUE-BLOOD COMING INTO AN ENVIRONMENT THEY HAVE NEVER SEEN BEFORE - A&M, NOTRE DAME, ON ABC.
Discuss.

Not gonna lie, I was a fan of just the one big season thread lol
But I get it, easier to keep up with this way.
Ready for next saturday to get here!

Hoping for the best. The lack of off season drama has been refreshing.

Man, ain’t that the truth.

Will be in Europe and my heart says I will stay up for kickoff but realistically I will be waking up at 4am to catch the 4th quarter.
Poor planning on my behalf.

Back in 98-2002 I was living just outside of Manchester and we had a large manufacturing plant in Wigan. I would go to the plant, open the gate, drive up to the main building let myself in and get on the internet. I would watch gamecast with the little field and the football moving around. No audio at all. Just a 5-10 word description of the play.
It was British Telecom high speed DSL at the time... 56 or so KB per minute... smoking fast. It only took 6-10 minutes to download a song on Napster.
I was desperate for some Aggie football.

and somehow you still had more idea of what was going on than had you been listening to Dave South

Listening to Ol’ Dave was quite the experience. That pregnant pause after every PAT was something, especially on one that mattered.

Nephews are going to game day excited for them

I'm so excited and nervous. Elko has the chance to start of his tenure at A&M with a win against a Top 10 team. I think Elko is going to do big things at A&M, starting tomorrow at 6:30 CT.
I'm also nervous because this is A&M we're talking about. Every time we get a chance to prove ourselves, we fall short.
But I chose to focus on the positives.
BTHO Notre Dame, Ags.
Gig 'em!

What gives me a modicum of hope is our D-Line vs. their very young and inexperienced OL. They've got a kid that was in high school 4 months ago having to block Scourton. Poor dude.

Me, too.
I see this going one of three ways.
A close A&M win.
A close ND win.
A comfortable Aggie win based purely on line play.

biggest home game since clemson, jimbos 2nd game here. will be beyond impressive if elko pulls off a W. ND will be a 10 win team, almost guaranteed.
