How’s the fight for racial justice going?

I don’t care about Justin Fields. He’s a backup QB in the NFL who doesn’t represent Georgia and hasn’t been here in 5 years. We’ve won 2 nattys since he left. OSU has won 0.
I just thought it was a bizarre thread to start that makes no sense.

Our grudges run deep. The Fromm vs Fields debate went on for a year on this board and when he trashed UGA to get his transfer….well that cemented his legacy.

Dude up and left UGA and blamed racism as his excuse so he could play immediately. He’s a POS and the OP was simply tying his current situation to the BS way he left UGA.

We were also told that we couldn’t win a natty without him and that Smart didn’t know how to manage the QB room.

At that time he didn't. Had he brought Fields along properly we might have been winning natties in 2019 and 2020. Fields got frustrated with his lack of playing time and the plays he got when he did get in a game. I don't necessarily blame him for that.

Not sure any coach in the country at that time could've satisfied Fromm, Fields and Eason...we had a loaded room and Fromm was playing well

Beck didn’t transfer and he could have. Now he is more mature and has put himself in a spot to make a lot of money. Was Smart wrong for not starting him over Bennett? Since Beck will likely be drafted much higher than Bennett?

Kirbys job is to win games, not bend to a spoiled, entitled brat and his dad.
Bennet has 2 natties while Fields has Zero.

In hindsight, I'm shocked he didn't. He was the official #2 in 2021 when JT Daniels went out in Game 2. Then instead of him starting, he got leapfrogged by the walkon who played like shite in the previous season. That would have been a totally understandable transfer decision. He worked hard, waited his turn, earned the #2 spot, something happens to the starter and it's your turn, but you are still on the bench.
I have to wonder if something wasn't going on with Carson, health/injury-wise, as well.

I think the argument is we'd be worse with Fromm because he was worse.

WTF is this? Fields was a freshman coming in following a QB and team that got us to the natty. No other freshman QB on the planet sees the field at all but CKS still gave Fields playing time. Despite this, Fields leaves after his freshman year.
How do you manage that better? The CKS didn’t manage the QB room is a BS narrative.

Yep. Not only that but have longevity in the league because he’s learned how to play QB at a high level…because you reach a point where raw talent isn’t enough.

I think I saw him say this in interview/podcast somewhere….he kinda owned the fact that his number was gonna be called going into the game and he honestly said he wasn’t ready. I was very shocked by the self awareness hahah

That’s also humility in understanding that there’s a lot more to the QB position than just “ I want the ball in my hand so I can make a play bruh”.
In the end though Fields got what he wanted. Started for OState and then got to be the starting QB in the League. We’ll see what happens next.

Justin didn't get the job b/c.he can't play the position. That's the long and the short of it.
I'm a Steelers fan. I said at the time over on the MSB and to my friends when we got both Wilson and Fields that I didn't like it. Wilson is washed and Fields can't play. I've been vindicated for the most part. The team just should have held on to Pickett (though they had to dump him after his tantrum) and seen if he'd could have been the answer.
But alas, here we are.
And Fromm was always the right decision. He was the better QUARTERBACK

Kirby has gotten exponentially better at handling quarterback situations.
The first four years were pretty rough, and it was the only real knock against Kirby as Georgia's coach.
