What’s the scoop on Blue Mountain, Wing and the incest in south Alabama? You can definitely tell a lot of the people were products of it. Seemed like the northern half was perfectly normal. Without context, the interviews were about if they knew ppl who were into it

My dad said to never visit Georgia because of a movie called Deliverance.

Said Tenn was not much different.

Said if you go in the woods the old hillbillies force butt sex.

I guess this applies to Alabama too.

This is true. Remember, if you hear banjos, keep paddling.

Mine said to never visit Texas because you'll be attacked by cross-dressing wierdos with a chainsaw.

After living in Austin for a few years, I can admit he was wrong about the chainsaws.

Watched a yt video of a mudlogger from Stillwater shoving oil pipe up his arse, he told the camera it’s pretty normal for okies to do that type of stuff.

Is that code for Austin and its intellectual elite? ...cause that actually sounds like Austin

I'm guessing your dad made a return trip to the woods.

The tornado debris Oklahoma is known for is repurposed into Auburn student housing.

Most of the inbreeding is from Tallahassee, but the confusion is understandable from anyone West of the Mississippi.

I’m the first to say that Bama fans are a whole different level of being shitty people, which they are, they’re also pretty dumb (average IQ of a Bama fan is approximately 16 points below the average SEC school, according to polls from Scientific American Magazine and also TIME)… but as far as inbreeding most of the SEC states are probably pretty bad.

I don’t think between LA, MS, Arkansas, Kentucky and Alabama there’s a significant difference.

Washington is also apparently way up there as far as inbreeding.

I mean, if you want to do the math on how many Natives were relocated to Oklahoma vs how many there are now, go ahead.

It's no worse in Alabama than anywhere else that has rural areas (which is pretty much everywhere). The stereotype comes out of Reconstruction Era propaganda in which wealthy families did used to practice it in the same way English aristocrats and royals did.

That was actually a serious question. They said it was called Blue Mountain bc of a family named Blue and it was just full of multiple generations of just family fun. Everyone kept saying go further south and you could tell it was basically there once ppl were getting heated of specific questions. He wasn’t being rude or anything. There were dudes who were very honest and were proud of foolin around with cousins.

That makes sense. A previous poster mentioned Tallahassee, is that true or was he joking?

I live fairly close to West Virginia, which is the state that is probably most synonymous with inbreeding.

I have never seen a single person growing up in Alabama, nor living in Mississippi, Georgia, or Virginia that was inbred.

That one year in Oklahoma near the Texas line though...

Interesting. Our Amish here in Oklahoma seem to be pretty much up to date. I would be surprised if that was an issue. We had to play an Amish town twice a year from elementary to graduating hs and you could see huge changes over the years.

Hey now! That’s where I’m from but yes, I think you’re probably on to something. Definitely some second takes when you look around or just listen.

Saw a Netflix special about some backward buttphuck zookeeper named Joe Exotic... supposed to be from Oklahoma... No WAY that was real, right?
