Is this a big deal ? Fans seem to be upset, but are they really necessary ?

It is concerning they are so poor they can’t afford LED lights or a sound system, but really who needs them if the product on the field is good ?

LED lights or a LT and MLB? That’s the choices in 2024

it is a waste when you dont ever get home night games. UGA put them in a few years ago, i think theyve been used twice.

Pretty sure they’re installing them after this year so not sure where you’re getting this info

Are you another ole miss fan worried about Mississippi State instead of your supposed guaranteed playoff season?

John Cohen neglected our football stadium renovations so we have been far behind where we have needed to be and the moneys all going to NIL now so who knows if/when that gets resolved.

I don't think State has ever fixed the sound system it's always been a problem even when they've claimed it's fixed.

The sound system needs to be fixed before the lights. They needed to do that 10 years ago

I love to shite on Schtate as much as the next guy, but those flashing, seizure inducing LED lights add nothing to the game attendance experience. Good for Schtate for not wasting money on superfluous bullshite just to keep up with the Joneses.

They were added to Sanford Stadium before the 2019 Season

Georgia Home Night Games with kickoff at or after 6:00pm Eastern
2023 - 4
2022 - 0
2021 - 1
2020 - 2
2019 - 3

It looks like there have been 10 games in Athens that would be late enough to use the LEDs since they were added.

There is nothing special about these LED lights. It was cool for a bit. Now that time has passed.

As a lifelong MSU booster, I could care less about LED’s. Hope we win and when we lose I hope the score is close, and hope we stay healthy. That’s all that matters to me.

The LED lights at Williams Brice make sandstorm 10 times better.

DNF had LED lights before anybody in the league.

The on field play already makes the fans nauseated enough. Why would you add flashing lights to that experience?

Cohen has all sorts of "Stadium Enhancements" on tap for Jordan Hare this year and a few money-making Auburn fan experiences to generate income for the AD.

Its almost season, getting bored. Don't worry, OM fans will soon just feel sorry for you.

How many night games do you play every year? LED's should pay for themselves in a short time just based on electric costs, but that would depend on the number of night games.

Also, were there other higher priority things that Cohen needed to get done? He's not been hesitant to start cap-ex projects for us.

Just like with anything else...it's not so much "we NEED this to sustain our program" as much as it can be used against you in recruiting: "every school in the conference and most in america have a cool light show, but Miss. State doesn't even have them! You really want to go somewhere that isn't fully committed?"

They're much cheaper to operate and replacement incandescent lights are getting more expensive. Money is why stadiums are going to LEDs, not because they're cool.
