Both the HC and DC have both been placed on leave pending an investigation. While this is technically not SEC, Hoover has produced SEC players and coaches through the years.

I want to know what everything thinks of a coach ripping a helmet off the head of a player and then another coach dry humping his head. I’m all for hard coaching and not developing pussies, but humiliating goes beyond “tough coaching”.

Gotta say that’s a bit uncalled for. I know people will say I’ve gotten soft, but those are 15-18 year olds. The older ones might be okay but younger ones are still kids. We don’t need grown men role models in positions of authority using physical forms of discipline for a damn game. It’s not that deep.

The video skips so you can't see what happened during the play. It doesn't look good, but any time you only get a portion of the video I am skeptical.

Why is the video so heavily edited?

That kind of stuff wouldn't have been acceptable even when I was a kid playing. And it's kind of weird that any coach would do that.

But then it's edited to the point where it's impossible to see what really happened, so is that actually what happened?

No clue, I just know that both the HC and DC are both under investigation and both have been suspended pending the investigation.

It’s clear the coach at least dry humped his head for a couple seconds for sure. And that alone is inexcusable no matter what happened. Slapping a helmet, grabbing the helmet and taking it off the kid i’m fine with, it’s the extra bullshite that’s not ok!

My high school in Houston smoked the shite out of them like 10 years ago.

It’s an odd video, but, hopefully, we’re all learning to wait for the investigative process to play out before rushing to judgment.

The one dry humping will be fired. The other may be collateral damage to send a message to community. “Community” is important.

I get what you are saying and in most cases I would agree. But Geez this is pretty cut and dry no matter happened before or after. Them coaches better have their heads on a swivel.

The only thing they taught that kid was to hate them. You can coach someone hard without humiliation. That’s the kinda shite that has no place anywhere. The question I have though is whether the first one knew what the second would do and is this something they’ve done before? I’d hear that 2nd one’s explanation for what he did but I can’t think that there’s anything that would lessen it even a little. He’s an adult and he just simulated sexual assault on a minor (possibly young adult but no doubt a high schooler).

I'm not passing any judgement until I see a video that hasn't been heavily edited.

No kidding, they never learn. Until I have seen the entire unedited version I am in the same boat. Yes it does look bad for the coaches, but maybe it was edited to make them look as bad as possible.

It appears that way, but it's not 100% cut and dry. He could be trying to teach him a technique or emphasizing something to do with balance by pushing on his pads.

I'm going to assume it's bad, but without a video that isn't heavily edited, I can't really make that judgement.

I just don't understand why the need to edit the video.

Roid rage - DC is body builder and goes to competitions - never look like that without roids. I worked out at Archie Mannings Gold Gym - roids everywhere and only way to look like that. They’ll tell you that too.

I can’t decide if they’ll keep him because he’s like Propst or get rid of him because he’s like Propst.

This looks deliberately edited to make it look like "humping."

Another video is supposed to show a coach "knocking a player down and ripping his helmet off," but really it just looks like the coach was trying to grab the player by the helmet and the player fell down.

I'm going to need a lot more than this to believe this was worth placing a coach on leave or even worth further investigation at all.

ETA: If this is all it takes to get a football coach fired, no football coach at any school in the country is safe.

The video cuts on and off each play. They don’t continuously film. If filmer is new they cut the start and end off lots of times. Kids filming.
