On a scale of 1 thru 10 , how excited are you for this college football season (compared to previous seasons) ?
You can explain why or why not with thoughts and words, but posting just a number is also fine

I scored 34 points in the Riboff. The next closest competitor had 21. The next closest competitor had 15. The next closest competitor had 4. The next closest competitor had 2.

I’ve been about a 6.8 on average the past few years. For this time of year. As the season approaches, I quit second guessing and get up to about 8.2
I’m a steady 4.1 right now though. The least I’ve cared ever in my life.
Playoffs!!!

Honestly, if a 8 or 9 was ‘21 and ‘22, this year is a 5. I don’t have any players I’m really amped to see what they do this year other than Beck…and let’s face it….it’s not like he’s a lightning rod for excitement.
That’s on me though because I don’t know enough about who is playing other than transfers that chose another school before choosing the G. Last year I wanted to see what Beck could do, Bowers, McConkey, etc. would do. This year I’m not keyed in on any specific players….which is what gets me excited pre season. I’ll get my shite together before Clemson.
I am excited to see what we do against Bama and Texas. Those games are huge.
But I will say I think the playoff is going to the lit and have some interesting games.

Debunked and unsubstantiated claims of vote rigging.

I'm a 7 right now, for the season. Maybe a 4 for the Playoffs. Just found out today we have 4 tickets for the Alabama game.
I think the Playoff system will sour me on CFB in the next few years.

Lack of quality home games and the playoff system being a bummer.
They continue to take the joy/benefit from being a 30 year season ticket holder.
Pay for play and trade have taken some of the luster off being a “team”

CJ Allen could be the next Roquan Smith. I'm excited about that.
Mikel Williams at outside linebacker is already on NFL scout radars as a 1st rd pick.
What can Carson do at QB with Bobo in his helmet, remember this will be the first year that NCAA allows a speaker in the helmet for coaches to talk to him.
My hands are shaking. I am excited.

If your team is #1 in the polls to start the season and your quarterback is the Heisman favorite, yet you have a hard time mustering up much enthusiasm, it may be time to find a new damn hobby.
Bow season starts in a month. Try Wordle.

10 - I like the hard schedule so I'm looking forward to great games. With this top Oline and an terrific RBs to complement Beck's passing the team will be very hard to defend.

The regular season will be much less exciting. 6
The playoffs will be lit. 9

Do we have the hardest schedule in the country?
@Bama
@Texas
@JAX
Plus Clemson, which is at noon for some reason?
We should still make the 37 team playoff even with an L or 2.

Probably an 8 since this is the first season in a while that I’ll be traveling for several games.

probably an 8ish. As we get further into summer and closer to kickoff the number always gets higher. I'm sure it'll be a 9/10 OVERALL by Labor day weekend.
The "compared to previous seasons" is a massive caveat. For starters, it's hard to really replicate that anticipation and giddy feeling that you had as a younger person, almost like that feeling on Christmas eve where you're so happy and excited you can hardly sit still. it's a lot different feeling as an 18 year old compared to 38. We've also been so wildly successful lately that that ever-lingering "maybe this might finally be our year!??" question is gone. One of the main reasons that your stomach got all butterfly-y back in the days is no more so that takes a little edge off, I htink.
And finally, not to beat this drum more than I have a million times already, but the game simply isn' the same. I'm not naive enough or dumb enough to think that the players and the sport has alwasy been as white as the driven snow. But hell it wasn't THAT long ago that guys truly did go to your alma mater because they thought it was a great place and wanted to win there. Some guys, believe it or not, actually wantd to show out for their home state! Whereas nowadays most people are sipmly short term mercenaries pimping themselves out to the highest bidder, with no guaratnee they'll even be on the roster the following year. Utterly retarded conference realignments, pointless and unncessary playoff expansion, more ads, more commercials, more rule changes, rivalries being erased, etc. It just feels like NFL-lite which kinda sucks. There's a reason myself and millions of others have always gravitated more towads NCAAF instead of the NFL most of which are now gone.
Anyywaaaayyyys.....I do still love the dawgs though and am ready to see em in action again.

Probably a 5. I've managed to shed caring about all sports except Georgia Football. I remember past years not being able to sleep at night before the start of the season. It was like Christmas Eve.
Now I just feel meh about it all. I don't have a problem with players getting paid and NIL deals. But what TV has done to regional rivalries and convoluted conference realignment has taken the fun out of it. It's a catch 22. Being able to watch every football game on TV is great, but it's come with a price.

I'm @ an 8. There so much that's different and so many great games that I can't go lower.

For me I'd say a 7 on the excitement scale. I don't follow offseason like I used to and it doesn't really hit me until I'm doing my fantasy draft and college football is the next weekend

Prolly bout a 6...
Had 2 season tix (331, row1 seats 3,4) for 39 years, and 2 in (117, row 25, 14,15) for 22yrs, then I retired to the beach...
The money grind and so many hands held out for donations along with my son not being able to use my tix for games I didnt wanna go to with the grandkids due to kids sports etc made my decision kinda easy...
This was even before the NIL/Portal bullshite started.
That's when my give a shite meter went South. Still watch the Dawg sports, FB, BB, Baseball and always will, but no mo money from me, not following recruiting as much as before etc...
Sorry for the long post...

I’m probably about a 5.5 right now, but each week we get closer to the season I’ll add a point as I read more about the team and watch highlights from last season to pump me up.
I’m going to Clemson, @Texas, @Ole Miss, and a slight chance I’m going to Bama too so that has me pumped.
