From the 2023 season, SEC teams were 1-3 versus the Big 12.
Hmmmm.....I guess playing SEC teams week in and week out won't be so difficult as most ignorant, overrated, slack-jawed SEC fans seem to think.
2023:
Week 2 - Texas at Alabama 34-24 - Texas dominates with double digit win
Week 3 - Kansas St at Missouri 27-30 - Missouri BARELY wins with FG to end game
Week 3 - BYU at Arkansas 38-31 - BYU wins with solid 2nd half performance
Bowl - Ok St versus aggy 31-23 - Ok St leads the entire game in beat-down
SEC-SEC-SEC

With that win, BYU had as many SEC wins last season as the Arkansas team they beat.

Week 3 - Kansas St at Missouri 27-30 - Missouri BARELY wins with FG to end game
So...Missouri beat Kansas State by the same margin as Texas. Only difference...Missouri didn't need Overtime to do it.

A ranked Oklahoma State team beat an aTm team that struggled to finish .500 in conference. That IS impressive.

You do realize that Kansas St took texas to OT and texas subsequently won by a FG? Idiot

Barely against the 5th place team in the Big 12

You do realize that all the retarded SEC fans on this forum preach daily how dominant SEC teams are versus Big 12.
Barely beating the Big 12's 5th place team is a failure by SEC standards.
Yet still, the SEC went 1-3 against the lowly Big 12.

Arkansas had 1 sec win.

Aggies were a 7-5 that fired their coach halfway thru the season.

Loss.

The only real reason to brag in this post and you're now in the SEC so I dont' get the point.

What the OP and many longhorn fans fail to realize is there’s a huge difference in winning one game vs an SEC team, grinding out a season against 8 of them.
As to the A&M vs Oklahoma St game, we were on our 3rd or 4th string QB at that point thanks to injuries, plus coaching with half a staff after firing Jimbo. Ok St should’ve won that bowl game and would’ve been embarrassing if they hadn’t. Take results from a low tier bowl game with a grain of salt, it’s just exactly that, a low tier bowl game that nobody cares about.

Only two of those games matters... the Texas/Bama and KSU/MIzzou games. Those teams were evenly ranked within their respective conferences and not bottom dwellers.
They were 1-1 in those games.
A&M was 7th in the SEC while OkSU was 2nd in the Big 12. The fact it was a 1 score game isn't a positive indicator for the Big 12.
If you dig deeper there are other indicators aside from head to head that show that the Big 12 wasn't particularly strong.
Oklahoma lost to Arizona... a team who was beaten by Mississippi State.
Iowa State lost to Ohio OOC and finished 4th in the Big 12.
Texas Tech lost to Wyoming OOC and finished 7th.
Houston lost to Rice OOC.
Baylor lost to Texas State.
Cincy lost to Miami of Ohio.
That's a LOT of losses to G5 teams for a P5 conference.
They were 1-1 in those games.

SEC went 1-3 against the LOWLY Big 12.

Non-CFP bowl games mean even less than they used to. Not even scrimmages between next year's teams as some guys are still auditioning for the portal or will be supplanted by portal pickups. Just throw those out.
But the middle tier of the SEC has always underperformed outside the conference relative to its huge NFL talent advantage over every other league. Mississippi schools, Auburn, Arky, etc. should be pasting zero-draft-pick OOC opponents 90% of the time and it just hasn't been that way. Mike Gundy or Gary Patterson could conquer the world with rosters that SEC schools routinely take to 7-5 and a bowl loss.

So...Texas barely beat the Big 12's 5th place team in Overtime. Got it.
Bama is a good win...Outside of that:
Is a win over the 5th place team in the Big 12 more or less impressive than a win over the 4th and 6th place teams in the SEC West? If you eliminated the divisions and just went by conference record...you are bragging about beating the 6th and 12th place teams in the SEC.

Heck...those 2 teams went 5-11 against the SEC.
