Regarding the move to the SEC:
“Without reservation.. every coach that we talked to was excited. And you know what, the ones who were not aren’t here anymore…”
Good for him and for OU

Lincoln crying in that bed made out of money. he's a great AD but going all in on Venables is suspect.

Venables is building a complete team in a way that hasn't been done at OU in a long time. OU is on the rise under Venables. What will hold them back in the near future is the hit they took on the O line

To me he's the guy that stole signs at clemson.

It’s funny how he ran from the SEC and ends up in the B1G at a school with bad alumni support where 1/2 of his games will be in terrible weather.

OU is more fricked by NIL and losing all the games in Texas. The SEC kinda fricked them by not making aTm a permanent rival. Hopefully after the non conference games with Houston go off the docket the state of Texas locks them out so they only have the RRS game in Texas and the every ~4 year game at aTm.

I don't think kids from Texas that go to OU care about games in Texas. What matters most now is playing in the SEC. A lot of DFW kids are going to Arkansas and OU a lot more than they used to.

OU is a couple hours from Dallas, that doesn’t really apply. You think kids have been going to OU for 60 years because they played tech and Baylor? Gtfo lol

I look forward to A&M playing the Sooners again soon but don't care to every year. Gonna be nice to rotate through all the schools more often moving forward.

Are we really talking about recruiting rankings in July?

The thing about it is that OU had NEVER played Texas Tech at all until 1992... and they had only played Baylor five times in history prior to the formation of the Big XII in 1996.
When OU was in the Big 8 they rarely played Texas teams besides the Red River game.
