Who are we thinking? I feel like the same handful of names have been thrown around. - Sully, Skip, Heefner, O'Connor, Walter, Bakich (dream hire IMO), etc. I think they have or we have eliminated several in the early process for various reasons (bad fit, timing, contract, etc).
How about a few that have not - Josh Holliday (Okie St), Chris Pollard (Duke), and AJ Hinch (DET Tigers). I think all 3 would be interesting.

Has the shine worn off Tadlock? A little surprised his name hasn't come up

Why would Hinch want to come to College baseball? Am I missing something?

Tigers suck. Contract up after next year.

I’d say so. Also his contract at Tech is ridiculous. We want no part of. Deal that auto renews and plays him top 5 money.

A little too much enthusiasm around Earley :l

He probably has 2 dozen current or former players showing support. I know there is other staff (not one of Schloss and the main 3 assistants) that are pulling for him too.

Assuming you can’t pull of a “home run” hire of one of the big coaches, and given the support coming out from current and former players for Earley, I’d rather take a chance on a young & hungry coach that can recruit than just a chance on an established coach with an “ok” resume.
This is also assuming Earley was blindsided by the debacle like everyone else, and not an active participant in it.
I also think that a younger guy might be better positioned to accept/navigate the new NIL landscape than an older coach.
If you’re giving me the choice of a hot shot assistant that players love vs. a coach like Heefner, I’d rather take a chance on the young guy, and hopefully put a strong coaching staff around him.

According to Looch’s most recent update, it sounds like Early is the leader in the clubhouse.

The folks who would rather have Earley than Tom Walter absolutely blow my mind
But it seems to be a very popular opinion amongst our largely retarded fanbase

Bring a guy like Walter in, and name Earley as an associate head coach, assuming he signs off on it. I’m not opposed to that.

This is what we do. Get our heart broken then turtle up and go with someone he won’t leave us (because no one wants him). BAS at work.

Who is it that no one wants?
Posted on 6/29/24 at 4:42 pm to Farmer1906
Earley. No one outside A&M had the thought of even interviewing him to be their HC.

Bunch of aggy message board posters don't want Earley, so he's probably the right pick.

Not 100% sure why Early is such a bad pick. I get wanting a big name and making a splash but it seems most of those options aren't happening for one reason or another. Is it so terrible to get a guy that likes A&M and is loved amongst players?

I like the idea of Earley. Save the money for NIL

Chip Brown posted the other day we’re making big plays to keep Jace and Gavin. Big enough where they can’t/won’t match.
