Exactly. Is aggy a dog, a farmer, a soldier? We know that their mascot isn't a soldier because they are fake army and have no military affiliation. So they are farmers, I suppose.

The A in A&M used to stand for Agricultural. Ag school students were then referred to as Aggies.
Most A&M schools used to go by Aggies before they either became state schools or picked mascots. This is is why A&M still occasionally uses Texas Aggies as it was the Texas based Agricultural school.
