Didn’t put much credibility in the Schloss to Texas hype, but this is either major leverage for a massive contract extension or there’s at least some validity to the rumors.

COLLEGE STATION — Texas A&M baseball coach Jim Schlossnagle has a decision to make, likely by Tuesday night, on whether he’s leaving A&M for rival Texas, several people familiar with the process said Tuesday afternoon.
The Aggies on Tuesday afternoon returned from the College World Series in Omaha, Neb., where they finished as runner-up to Tennessee in a best-of-three series. A&M was seeking its first national title.
Schlossnagle also is meeting with A&M brass late Tuesday as the Aggies try and convince him to stay in College Station, other sources said.
Texas dismissed David Pierce on Monday after eight seasons with the Longhorns, a program that has won six national titles but none under Pierce.
Schlossnagle, who led TCU to five CWS appearances from 2010-17 in his tenure with the Horned Frogs from 2004-2021, has led A&M to its only two final four appearances in the CWS in program history, in two of his three seasons in College Station.

Funny part about that one. Brent got his info from a sip that did not want Texas to move to the SEC. He was hoping leaking it would stop it from happening.

College Station is a good place to live if you are middle or upper middle. But if you are rich like Schlossnagle is (and is going to be), Austin is much better. You can only eat at Chipotle so many times.
