What did you think about the North Carolina celebration after LSU gifted them last night?

It seemed to be excessively long. They were jumping around and celebrating like they won the NC. Did they shoot their wad?

I found that weird too. They dogpiled in the infield. That should only happen with a win at the final game in Omaha.

We dogpile after winning the super regional. Used to do the regionals too, before they went to the super regional format. Remember when Lane Mestepey got hurt under the dogpile in 2004 before we went to Omaha? Anthony Reynaudo got hurt in the super regional dogpile in 2009 as well.

to be fair, they are a basketball blue blood..
and they did just beat a baseball blue blood..
who also happened to be the reigning National Champs..
and you could tell the emotions were running high..
and so I asked before the last out..

making it to Omaha is a dogpile worthy thing. Like cutting down the nets when you make it to the Final 4.

They earned it . Now if LSU would’ve won and did that I would’ve been embarrassed simply we have 7 nattys and won many regionals

I guess that's my point. I don't mind the celebrating. That's part of what makes college athletics great. But there's still lots of baseball to play and risking an injury on something entirely preventable seems kinda dumb.

I wasn't really talking about the dog pile. That's common and expected. I'm talking about the screaming that went on for 7 or 8 minutes afterward until the TV cutaway.
They celebrated like they crossed the big finish line. Just my opinion.

It was a hard fought regional so their win was well-earned. I won’t begrudge them for having their moment and celebrating.

Hell, NC was lucky to win that game.
Would have been excessive if it was a blowout - but I seriously thought LSU was going to win - I’m sure they did too.

LSI did not gift anything. UNC earned it and earned a celebration. And LSU played well. Just did not win the game. And they did not lose the game. NC won the game.
State OTOH, gifted our game to Virginia on a silver platter.

I don't think UNC would have celebrated the way they did but for the circumstances. It was a terrific regional and the trio of games against LSU which definitely had a Super Regional feel to it. UNC defeated an LSU team playing very well as defending National Champions. Not a ho hum win.

Let the kids be kids. Our players love to dance to an Irish jig. If they continue to win, no harm no foul.

I think winning is hard and those that poke fun at how others celebrate when they win, when they themselves haven’t won anything but couch potato contests is laughable.
That’s what I think.
We are not the “Man in the Arena”, our opinion about how they celebrate is irrelevant.
