Who'll be the best among these three: OU, Tennessee and LSU in '24?

Oklahoma & Tennessee are going to be starting red-shirt freshmen QBs while LSU is also breaking in a new QB.

I foresee them all having upper-middle level finishes within the conference and it's really difficult to predict one clearly breaking out from the other two. They're all pretty even.

Tennessee goes to OU....OU goes to LSU.....LSU & UT won't play each other.

I'll go with LSU finishing ahead of the Crimson & Cream and Daisy Orange & White.

We have a lot of unanswered questions this year. I hope we do very well, but the offense will drop off obviously with JD and such gone. On defense, who knows... big year for Kelly.

Tough choices, but I'd say 1. OU, close 2. LSU

Our defense is still a major work in progress. They basically struck out on interior DL in the spring portal and we need upgrades at DB. Baker is a good DC but you can't make chicken salad out of chicken shite. Nuss is a good QB but he won't be able to put the rest of the team on his back like JD did last year. LSU might be the toughest team in the conference to predict record wise.

If we can be average on defense, we will be better than both. Not taking anything from OU and UT, but Nuss isn't a typical first year starter, and this will be our best O-line in a long time if not forever.

It wont matter though if we roll out last years defense at which point they would both be better than us. UT has UGA and we have Ole Miss and USC, so a little easier schedule for us there. OU is a complete crapshoot to me with Venables

Depends on how this new line holds up. If they are decent, we are ok. If not, we are a big gap at 3.

One thing is for sure. UGA is head and shoulders the favorite. I cant imagine them having more than 1 loss. If they would somehow miss out on the 12 team playoff, it would be the biggest story in college football.

Bo Davis should be able make something resembling Chicken Salad out of the Chicken shite DT situation.

Blake Baker will let Harold Perkins & Whit Weeks loose and scheme the Defense into a more aggressive attacking one that will be substantially improved.

Still a long way to go in the DL and Secondary talent pool.

"Improved" doesn't mean "Great" by any means though, but it will be much better than last season.

Not worried about the Offense at all with Nussmeier. We'll still score plenty of points. It will just look different than last season..........

Putting us with bama and uga would make more sense then putting with those 2 scrub teams.

Nuss is a 22 year old with an NFL dad. Not a typical 1st year starter. I think he will have an easy transition.

OU and UT meet early and I think the game is a genuine tossup. How those two finish the season will be interesting.

Sorry vol, you dont stand a chance in Norman. You might keep it close if it was in Tennessee.

Well, we play both Tenn/LSU. Does LSU play Tenn? If so we’ll find out, if you mean head to head.

If you mean overall conference? OU has the hardest schedule of all SEC teams with 6 of 8 being ranked. Thats a hard hill to climb in year one so likely LSU will be better record than other 2 teams.

OU has some questions on O. I have seen all this talk about our QB throwing 3 picks in bowl game. Well if anyone watched he got credit for 3 bit only had 1 bad early INT. The other 2, one was caught and immediately fumbled counted as INT. Other was deflected into waiting hands. Both were great throws. So I’d pump the brakes with that talk kid can throw and with accuracy. Our RB/WR room is outstanding. Oline is only question but oLine coachBB is the best in business.

OU has what should be a great D. If one looks back at BV in his first 3 Clemson years he improved their D to top 10 in year 3 and kept it there. He knows from having played SEC teams what he needed to do when he got here. Granted, LR left the defense bare of talent compared to what BV likely had to start with at Clemson. But he knows how to build D and that should keep us in all games barring any big injuries. He’s building depth as well which will be needed.
