My Mama told me “Nothing good happens after 12:00am.”
I have found that to be true.
Prayers for all involved.

Yes yes it is. For the most part. Considering all reputable businesses have closed by that time and the only people are usually out are those people who are partying. Alcohol, guns and someone "disrespecting" someone turns into violence 9 times out of 10.

From 10 pm to 5 am you are 20x more likely to die in a car wreck than from 5.01 am to 9.59 pm. This came from a state trooper speaking at a youth event before prom.

Wonder what sort of shite they were involved in at 3:30am in mall parking lot?

It is very tragic and I'm not discounting the value of his life, but damn... These things can be avoided.

Which means it's probably not accurate.

LOL. Scare tactic to get the kids to behave.

I remember being a kid and having the cops come to our school and tell us if we took drugs we would die or go to jail.

Did none of yall have fun in college? I don’t know enough about this specific circumstance, but kids stay out late in college, even ones who aren’t doing anything bad.

Prayers up for Brian to make it, and then peace for the family right now.

Don't even be out past 10 even for church or a wedding.

A family member just had a wedding started 5pm
A little convenient but worth it.
Reception ended at 9pm..

I encourage all events earlier than in past no matter what

Neither is using your graph to indicate the odds of dying in these time slots.. It’s just a histogram of when crashes occur. It doesn’t show the reduced number of drivers during the late hours which would contribute to higher odds of death given the provided total death # stats.

I doubt it’s 20X but I can believe it is 10X once you factor for differences in # of drivers.

I see this all the time and I beg to differ. I have had some of the best times of my life after midnight. Of course, if you mean out on the streets or bars, etc, it’s definitely not the place to be. But my wife and I have had some great fun after midnight at home.

Gunshot wound to the head almost always goes one of two ways. Either a very long recovery or a miraculous recovery. I’m definitely praying for the latter. His family already has more tragedy on their hands than anyone deserves with the loss of his brother.

Surviving the initial trauma is a good sign that he will pull through. Here’s to hoping his recovery proves to be 100 percent.

You typically don't know for sure until after 7-10 days when the cerebral edema (brain swelling) resolves as sometimes the edema makes things look worse than they are. Hopefully that will be the case here. The exception is if they see structural brain damage on CT or MRI.

Prayers.

Interesting how these headlines are so one sided. All parties had guns, even the football player. I live in Sarasota and it’s one of if not the safest town in America. Mostly because most all of us are millionaires with more billionaires per capita here. His family had violence before as there was someone else in his family that was killed via a similar way.

The one area of town that has panhandlers among local thugs, but it’s a very small area. Sarasota is primarily a beach town which has areas called Siesta Key, longboat key, etc. some drug activity from Atlanta comes in or Miami, but this is a rare occurrence
