People have short memories about Tyrann Mathieu.

Go watch his highlights again, no one has come close to him in the decade since.

He was an absolute ball hawk beast not only on defense but also special teams. His special teams td's led us to victory over Arkansas and then UGA in SEC champ game in '11. He received an invite to the Heisman ceremony. They don't just invite anybody

Not a terrible list. The first four were exactly who I thought of when I read the thread title, but maybe not in that exact order.

I had Manziel at 5th instead of the Honey Badger, though.

Funny thing is LSU handed the ball off to Fournette 5 more times than Henry carried the ball in the 2015 regular season. They did their best to get him that Heisman but that 31 yards and subsequent 3 game skid torpedoed that dream.

Yeah and on those 5 carries Fournette had 156 more yards.

Henry then carried the ball 95 more times.

You people in this thread clearly don’t remember Mathieu in 2011. The guy forced 6 fumbles, recovered 5 and had 4 TDs along with several other huge returns or picks that he almost took all the way. He was absolutely dominant

Tebow, Cam and Burrow at top.

Really though Tebow because of his entire body of work compared their careers which had only one stellar season each.

I would also add Eric Berry. Best corner at Tennessee in a long long time. Almost killed UGA's Moreno with a vicious hit.

Those two played quarterback during a time when defense was still played by men. Those days are long over and any quarterback after them had it easy.

The so called generational quarterback pops up every season now. Nothing special about Burrow or anyone who came after him.

McFadden should be their way before Derrick Henry. He’s only there because of the team he played for.

Oh boy, this old argument again.

Fournette had 635 yards against losing teams; 383 yards against non-P5 teams.

Henry had 52 yards against losing teams; 148 yards against non-P5 teams.

Fournette played 4 ranked teams and averaged 117 yards and 1 TD per game.

Henry played 7 ranked teams and averaged 150 yards and over 2 TDs per game.

Only 1 QB from that time frame has 3 NC rings.

But my Top 5:

Tebow
Cam
Henry
Burrow
Smith

If Tua isn't injured in 2018 againstMiss St, he'd definitely be on the list.

McFadden should be in over both if you were objective about it. Doak Walker, Jim Brown Trophy, All American and SEC Offensive Player of the year. 2 times for all 4 of those. 1st team SEC 3 years

Playing behind Casey Dick (who? Exactly) Every team we played knew what coming every play. Play action doesnt work if the qb cant pass

That’s why McFadden played qb so much, he threw to passes in several games. He was that offense. It’s a shame the snubs he got.
