Left for Miami
Fired
Fired

So... if the current HC wins one, will he bolt for greener pastures or get fired in 2-4 years?

UGA is a very different place than LSU.

UGA has had 5 different head coaches since 1964. Two of them have won national titles (3 in total).

LSU has had 10 since 1964. Three of them have won national titles (3 in total).

We're a bit more patient I guess. Largely it's yielded the same results.

I’ve said for years, LSU is the easiest job in all of college football. LSU has done well the past couple decades but honestly it’s shocking they haven’t done more.

Current NFL players by state:

211- Texas
151- California
149- Florida
110- N Carolina
109- Alabama
104- Ohio
103- Michigan
102- Louisiana
89- Georgia

Now go through each of those top states for producing talent and figure out how many Power Conference and Top 25 All-Time Programs reside in each one:

Texas- 6 power programs / 3 Top 25 programs (#10 Texas, #21 Texas A&M, #24 TCU, Baylor, Texas Tech, Houston)

California- 4 power programs / 2 Top 25 programs (#6 USC, #9 UCLA, Stanford, Cal)

Florida- 4 power programs / 3 Top 25 programs (#11 Florida State, #12 Florida, #14 Miami, UCF)

N Carolina- 4 power programs (N Carolina, NC State, Duke, Wake Forest)

Alabama - 2 power programs / 2 Top 25 programs (#1 Alabama, #17 Auburn)

Ohio- 1 power program / 1 Top 25 program (#2 Ohio State)

Michigan- 2 power programs / 2 Top 25 programs (#5 Michigan, #18 Michigan St)

Louisiana- 1 power program / 1 Top 25 program (#7 LSU)

Georgia- 2 power programs / 1 Top 25 program (#8 Georgia, Georgia Tech)

Louisiana and Ohio are unique in that they are the only two top-producing, talent-rich states with just one power program. But Ohio is also much closer in distance to other Top 25 programs:

Driving distance from Columbus, OH to nearest Top 25 programs:

189 miles to Ann Arbor, MI
251 miles to E Lansing, MI
253 miles to South Bend, IN
326 miles to State College, PA
358 miles to Knoxville, TN

Driving distance from Baton Rouge, LA to nearest Top 25 programs:

348 miles to Tuscaloosa, AL
361 miles to College Station, TX

That’s it. LSU has just two Top 25 programs within 400 miles of them and zero within 300 miles. Meanwhile Ohio State has 5 Top 25 programs within 400 miles including 3 right around or within 250 miles.

LSU really does sit on an island all by themselves that is rich in football talent.

And last two were complete morons. I'm not sure there are very many if any schools at all that Ed Orgeron and Les Miles could win a championship at
