Assuming that Jalen is QB1 going into this season, how do you help him?

Law and Prentice are good, maybe not great. Bernard is looking effective. Jalen still can't progress through reads from what I can tell. How does he get help in CKD's offense?

Run the single wing

How much help should a second year starting RS JR need?

Help is already there.
This time we actually got a good offensive coordinator.
Not some bum like BOB so many here was defending when he was running us into the ground or a position coach level guy masquerading as an OC like Rees

1 thing would help him a ton is the o-line not being a turn-style like much of last year.
The other thing will be an consistently effective run game. I am pretty certain we'll have that this year.
WRs that can consistently get open.

Going to have to work in the offseason plus I think a lot of the pass offense hinges on two freshmen (Williams and Odom) and Hale's knee.

Awesome, another shite on Jalen thread thinly disguised as something else.

Jalrn Milroe is a known quantity. Unless Deboer or someone else on the staff is as good with quarterbacks as Lane Kiffin, then there is no helping him.
Ty Simpson hanging around is an extraordinary off season win.

I don't understand why you felt the need to make a post. If it was for all three QBS, then I understand.. but why zerio on Milroe.

Better route concepts
Under BOB and Rees we had a lot of slow developing intermediate and deep routes that were basically relying on the receiver to just out athlete the DB and get open. There was little to no "scheming" guys open on a consistent basis.
It won't be quite as elementary as that under Deboer, reads will be required, but his offense at Washington resembled a Kiffin offense more than a Rees offense. Penix is incredibly accurate, but he had a lot of quick throws and easy reads because of the scheme as well.
Also the guys may love Jalen but not at the cost of winning games. They'll see Ty everyday in practice. If he's outperforming Jalen then he'll play and there will be minimal tears shed

We got to run the old inside trap instead of stopping it.

A return to a lot of the concepts we used with Sims, Coker, and freshman Hurts under Kiffin. Lots of motion, jet sweeps, WR screens, etc., run the damn ball, and take deep shots when you have a clear advantage. It'd solve a lot of his issues with getting the ball out on time and give him plenty of easy completions to, hopefully, keep the drive moving.

To start, good snaps that will allow him the opportunity to even have a chance at making the proper read. Then solid protection from the OL from the opening snap of Game 1. Give him High/Low reads. Split the field in halves or even thirds. The first two will go a long way in to how successful he will be and how successful this team can be this fall.

Move him to rb.

I think our WR development nose dived under Wiggins and the QB development suffered under O'Brien because he was just coattail riding Young back to the NFL.
Some of the snap issues are really QB issues. The QB and center seemed to struggle with identifying blitzes, so the sideline was doing it with signals most of the second half of the year. Due to sign stealing concerns, we ended up owning ourselves in the Rose Bowl. I believe Milroe has some indecisive vocal cues on when to snap...maybe losing the tempo on the cadence. That's why they went to clap signals but that was sketchy in hostile environments.
But in all fairness, Seth was a low snapper with Young but Young was a shorter target.

You can't assume that per se, but lets do it anyway Because of that we have to back up, and coach Deboer has to do this.
He has to tell Jalen, the NFL is going to bring all out defense on you like Auburn and Mich. did, if you want to just be a great college QB then you have already accomplished that, but if your goal is to be a top NFL draft pick, you have to improve according to x, y and z (get some scouts to grade him)
Then remind him of Jalen who lost his job even though he had hardly lost any games as a starter. He got better because he git benched, and he got even better at OU when he transferred by listening to Linken Riley and learning new things. I am going to be the coach who helps gets you to the next level, but you have to listen and improve. Both our goals is to win, and see you as a top 10 NFL pick. So, lets work together.
He HAS to be told he is not a good enough QB at reading defenses and that is why he takes so many sacks. That ability comes from studying film. Just ask Peyton Manning or any great QB.
