Everyone is going to downvote you, but you are entirely correct. They won't agree with you until after the season because they don't want to admit it to themselves yet, but this is the least proven group of receivers we've had since Saban took over.

-Bond was ready to break out nationally, but couldnt wait to cash in on his offer from Texas.
-Bernard is just a guy so far based on his film.
-Hale flashed WR1 potential, but he's off the table for this year.
-Law is a complementary guy, not a feature guy.
-Prentice has been middle of the pack his entire time in Tuscaloosa.
-Henderson is a complete unknown despite being a Jr
-Williams has WR1 written all over his film, but will he be ready to be featured year 1?
-Does Odom count as a WR? He could be "that guy", but he's also a TF

Who out of that group requires a double team? Who is a one on one matchup problem week 1?

Doesn't mean we can't win big without one, but it sure would be nice to have an established playmaker for Milroe to lean on in clutch situations.

I do trust DeBoer's system to elevate mid tier receivers more effectively than we've seen since Sark left, so perhaps a bunch of solid contributors will be enough? Time will tell.

I'm a big boy, I don't need everyone to like what I say as validation. I appreciate your comments.

Ultimately, I think the reason why discussions like this are not well received is because people take concern as condemnation. I think there is a possibility that Odom and/or Williams are freshmen all-conference and all-american type players. It is a good possibility, even, but it is not predetermined.

Given the circumstances, it makes all the sense in the world to sign a power conference starter caliber receiver if they're out there and interested. I hope it ends up being unnecessary if it does not happen though!

If it was half as bad as you make it sound the coaches would have grabbed somebody out of the portal.

-Bernard looks like much more than a JAG on the aday film.
-Prentice has been solid for two seasons.
-Law has never had a chance to be featured but he has shined in the roles he was given.

Then you have two all-world true freshmen and Henderson.

To me that looks like 3 guys we know we can count on and 3 more guys with really big potential. Its not a doom and gloom situation.

God people like you are so douchey. “My opinion based on nothing is right, people just won’t admit it”

I agree they are unproven, but how do you know these guys you listed aren’t championship worthy or what their role will be? We haven’t even played a game.

Odom and Williams will be hard to cover on the field at the same time. Bond was good but Williams is much better. A lot of teams would love to have our veteran receivers. Not to mention our TEs, and our backs coming out of the backfield. Anyone who is worried about our passing attack probably stay up at night worrying about an asteroid hitting earth.

I agree that Bernard is more than just a dude but I think he's not a 1WR. I think that label is more apt for Prentice based on two years of production. Law is a big play waiting to happen but I don't think he's a 2WR.

We will need to hit hard on on Odom and Williams and Henderson needs major growth to be a contributor. Henderson missed some gimme catches in the spring game. So I'm cautious. Odom didn't have much spring game production but he looks the part. Would love to get to watch an Alabama version of Mike Evans.

That was also before Hale went down.

I doubt they are going to just take "guys" out of the portal either. We have "guys", we just don't have a WR1 and I didnt really see any of those in the portal after Bond went to Texas.

I think pre-injury it was going to be Hale / Bernard / Williams / Prentice or Law with the hope that Odom emerged at the Flex WR/TE spot and they probably felt like that was good enough to ride with. They seem to like the Cole Adams kid as well so he could end up pushing for time as a possession guy.

Again, I'm not saying we won't get production or that guys now in the pipeline that cant turn into a WR1 eventually. I'm just saying that we don't have anyone on paper that's keeping Kirby Smart up at night yet and its been a long time since thats been true.

Its easy for people to let their emotions get in the way of realities.

Fans are often not objective about their teams because they are so personally invested in their team that any criticism is viewed as an attack rather than an observation.

After the season is over they can usually be more honest, but pretending like fans don't put rose colored glasses on when it comes to their personnel is not real life.

Go scan other teams boards. There are ~15-20 teams that think they can win a championship when in reality there are only 5-7 teams with a championship roster going into the year.

Instead of trying to personally attack me maybe you could just point out who we have right now would demand a double team week 1 at WR?

How could any of us possibly know that without seeing how everyone has progressed?

One of my favorite parts about Mack is he can play a little linebacker.
