How about reach the Elite Eight or win the SEC Regular season?
For me. . .
Elite Eight > Sec Regular Season > SEC Tournament > Sweet Sixteen
For me. . .
Elite Eight > Sec Regular Season > SEC Tournament > Sweet Sixteen

I think it would depend on how the loss looks.
You could win the sect but lose by 15 in an upset in the first round.

I would imagine ncaa tournament wins are more attractive to recruits.

Well, they're not mutually exclusive. I'd like to win the SEC, win the SEC tourney, and go deep in the Big Dance if I'm just picking and choosing.

Elite Eight > SEC Regular Season > Sweet Sixteen > SEC Golf Championship > Women's Volleyball Natty > Hockey Club League Championship > SEC Tournament

The correct answer.

Your order is exactly correct.

I think this depends on a lot of factors. Like, how often have you made the Sweet 16 and how long has it been? How long has it been since you won the SECT or Regular Season? What was your seed in the NCAAT? Who beat you in the NCAAT? If you won a conference title, did you lose in the first round of the NCAAT?
I think the answer to those questions could change the hierarchy of what fans would rather their team achieve.
I will say, in any circumstance, I think Elite 8 is going to be better than all of those.

Sweet Sixteen
Sweet sixteen just means you’ve beaten two average teams. I know it’s not the easiest in the world and seedings can vary.
Winning the SEC tournament means you presumably beat the better teams from the conference (including higher seeded teams in the NCAA tournament) or are the best team in the conference (thus a high seed in the NCAA tournament).
So for me, it’s Elite Eight - SEC Reg - SEC Tournament - Sweet Sixteen

not necessarily. It could mean you were an 8/9 and beat a 1 seed. Or a 7/10 who beat a 2 seed.

Auburn beat the #5, #9, and #6 teams from the SEC this year to win the SECT. If the top seeds get beat in their first game, like this year, it can make the path a lot easier. The #1, #2, and #3 teams all lost their only game in the SECT, leaving Auburn, the #4, as the highest remaining seed left.

usually said by teams that lose in the first round

I’d rather not lose to an Ivy League school in the first round

Of course it’s that way for you and ironically it happened this year lol
