greatest scorer of our generation

The get in the door price for their next game is currently sitting at $265 on Vividseats. Average is near $500.
I thought about flying up to see it just to be a part of it, but I ain’t paying $265 to get in.

such a weird comparison. They play different sports in different generations.

I’m a women’s hoops fan, as you all know, and I think it is retarded to compare Clark to Maravich. Pistol Pete is the men’s leader, Clark is the women’s leader. End of story.

I can get behind trolling LSU. But I can’t get behind this. Comparing Clark and Maravich is stupid.

If she wants to be the true all time leading scorer in women’s college basketball she needs to surpass Lynette Woodard who played for Kansas from 77-81(3,649 points).
Women’s basketball was governed by the Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW) until switching to NCAA the year she graduated. For some reason the NCAA recognizes AIAW wins and losses for teams and coaches, but not some of the other stats unless they played a couple of years as part of the NCAA.

No one cares about her scoring record. No one.

Pete Maravich was the most awesome player ever.

Had no idea she participated in men’s basketball.

Amazing. History will remember her as the greatest scorer of all time.
I’m sure fans of a women’s basketball school — which places equal weight on such — can especially appreciate the significance.

People don't like it because it's womens bb, but girl can ball. The female Larry Bird.

Pete is still the all time scorer in men’s basketball, just like UCLA has the longest winning streak in men’s basketball. I remember when UConn women’s made their run and “passed” UCLA. Apples to Oranges.

Saw this on twitter a month ago. Tim Bourret:

Much will be made of Caitlan Clark soon breaking Pete Maravich career scoring record (3667). If she does it in her 130th career game (current pace), she will have played 47 more games than Maravich. If Maravich played 130 games at his 44.2 PPG he would have scored 5744.

I didn’t realize she played NCAA men’s basketball. Thanks for letting me know!

What makes this troll thread so great is that ~11 months ago many of the same people taking the bait were celebrating a WNCAA Tournament title.

I watch all of her games when I can stream them. She is absolutely amazing.

Clark is in her fourth year. Maravich compiled his total in three. So Clark has had an extra year.
Furthermore, Clarks' points scored in her freshman year count toward her total.
The 715 points Maravich scored in his freshman year DO NOT. He'd have over 4,300 otherwise.
Not to mention Clark has had the benefit of the three-point line, Maravich did not.
Also, Maravich averaged 44% from the field, Clark 46%, with over half being 3-pointers! Not sure where the 'Clark is a lot better shooter than Pete was' drivel started.

Ok...but...career Points Per game:
28.3 < 44.2
Note...she has a 3-point shot available...Pete did not.
