If a fan or player gets seriously hurt or killed, will schools stop people from charging on the court/field.
So players who have just been in a emotional game are expected to put up with fans in their face and pushing and shoving them. If I was in their place I would clearing a pathway to get to the locker room to get out the danger zone. In my opinion it is shelf defense. Act like you have been there before!

Larger fines and forfeits.

Reduced schollies after that.

I’d be okay seeing a lot of fans getting layed out on the floor.

Maybe in football, a player snaps and starts pummeling fans with his helmet.

I’ve always been against any fan stepping foot on the playing surface of any sport for any reason.

Easy, if fans rush the court or field, then the win by the home school is forfeited. That will take care of the problem.

Wait, did I miss something?

Why are we talking about rushing the court today?

I think storming the court/field is fun, and there’s an issue caused by it maybe 1% of the time.

Lots of histrionics about this. Just line your security up in the front of the student section until the losing team can jog straight off then let them loose.

Put an amount of time on the scoreboard that allows the opposing team time to exit. If fans come before then you penalize the hell out of the home team. Loss of home games, loss of post season play, vacate the W, lose fans inside the stadium/arena for an amount of time, etc.

You’ve got to protect the players/coaches but also allow the excitement and passion that comes with college sports. It obviously doesn’t happen at Bama, but it is pretty cool to see it happen at annual door mats who pull the big upset.

College sports are about passion. Let fans have their fun and express it. It sucks to lose, but it’s funny that beating Bama is so exciting for people that they rush the field.

Quit complaining about other people enjoying life.

It’s not really “IF” someone gets hurt. I don’t know about BB, but there are injuries almost every time the fans rush a football field. And there have even been very serious injuries. These are kept VERY quiet by most schools for obvious reasons.

There have also been plenty of cases of drunk fans confronting, and even assaulting, players on the losing team, and sometimes the players react - seems like we had a big fuss just a couple years ago over a Bama player who allegedly shoved some drunk bitch who had rushed the field….

One example of the “innocent fun”:
It’s been a few years, but down at the smelliest village a MAJOR incident was averted when security was able to stop a mob of aub fans who had torn down the goalposts after beating us - and they were headed up the stands; apparently to throw them off the back of the stadium over the entrance to the visiting team locker room.

Just “good clean fun” Right?

This shite won’t stop until something serious is done - and sad to say, that won’t happen until someone loses their life.

As we all know, the drunkard fans DO NOT CARE if the school has to write a fat check. It has to be something as serious as a Forfeit - or loss of a home game the next season; or something just as impactful to the fans. Maybe a playoff ban for that season.

Otherwise it won’t ever stop.

Night sticks, dogs, pepper spray. I would also love some water cannons.
