Beck never really had both McConkey and Bowers healthy at the same time due to injuries. McConkey was injured so much he finished 4th in yards for UGA last season. Lovett (#2) and Thomas (#5) both return next season. Also returning are Dillon Bell (#6) and Oscar Delp (#7). All 4 of them had 20+ receptions last season.
UGA also adds 4-star TE Benjamin Yurosek from Stanford (16 receptions in 2023), 4-star WR Colbie Young from Miami (47 receptions), 3-star WR Michael Jackson III from SoCal (16 receptions) and 4-star WR London Humphries from Vandy (22 receptions). UGA lost a fair amount of depth pieces due to players transferring out which is why UGA brought in so many pass catchers this off-season.

Nuss may be good, but the reality is he's a guy who's only body of work last season was a bowl game.
We've seen a lot of examples of players who looked great in one or two games of relief as a backup who did not succeed as a starter. DJU at Clemson. Joe Milton at Tennessee. Tennessee is doing the same thing with Nico this off-season.
It's reasonable for opposing fans to take a "wait and see" approach on a player like Nico or Nuss. They aren't proven yet.

Agreed. I will probably not start believing in Nuss until his 2nd or 3rd 300+ yd game. He was certainly talented in the 2022 SECCG though. And TBF, even with an improved defense, he will probably need to score a lot of points to win...so should put up some big stats

Maybe Gabriel at Oregon, but my darkhorse is Will Howard. With 2 of the top RB's in the country and with those WR's, and in Chip Kelly's (running) and Ryan Day's (passing) he will absolutely thrive.

Disagree. I mean, there is a huge difference in pay in college...but there is in the NFL, too, and yet somehow Mahomes, Brady, Allen and Stafford all manage to do well with much lower paid players on their teams. If college players want more money then they will do what NFL players do. Work harder and put up numbers.
Highest paid players NFL 2023:
Burrow-$55 million
Mahomes-$52.65 Million
Herbert-$52.5 million
Jackson-$52 Million
Hurts-$51 Million
2 of the top 5 paid players were in the NFL playoffs.
Personally? I would take the money and invest it. If he wants to put it into a car that depreciates then the loss will be on him. However, if he should do very well this season and get drafted high in the NFL draft, the money he spent on that car will look like peanuts.

I don't consider Nuss a returning QB. He's played some in a backup role, but I think the spirit of the topic are returning starting QB's, not returning backup QB's who are the presumed starters for 2024.
If Nuss is to be considered, he's got the smallest sample size, although that sample size looks pretty good. But due to the sample size, I'd have him 4th behind Beck/Ewers/Dart who have played great with a large sample size.

I've seen stuff like this posted and I really don't get it.
In the NIL era, how is the starting QB getting paid a lot of money and buying himself a luxury car something that would be detrimental to the team?
I would understand it if it were a backup getting big bucks while a starter isn't getting paid, but from what's been reported, UGA's biggest earners are all starters. UGA walk-ons are getting 20-50K NIL deals so it's not like nobody is getting paid other than the starters either.
If everyone's getting paid and those contributing more get paid more, where would that hurt the team? It would seem like in a NIL environment, that would be the most pro-team setup you could get.

I may be in the minority, but I actually think Milroe is a solid college QB. Not the best in the nation, but pretty good.
I think UT had a weakness at WR/TE the last couple of seasons. They don't have guys like Smith/Metchie/Waddle/Williams/Jeudy/Ruggs/Ridley. For a long stretch, Bama was LOADED with top flight WR talent. But once Metchie and Williams left, they didn't have that kind of talent anymore. You saw that with Bryce Young in 2022 and he was a Heisman winning QB. Milroe isn't that, but if Bama develops another WR or two at that top level they had for years then I think Milroe could put up some really good stats.
He's just not the kind of QB that can make "meh" WR's look like stars.
