I saw where G Mac is all bowed up over people saying he dislikes UA. I know this topic has been discussed but I guess I’m amazed that McElroy is actually surprised people feel this way.

There’s a saying, “We sometimes don’t see ourselves as others see us.” and I think that applies to him in spades.

I get it, he does NOT work for UA or the Crimson Tide Sports Network and that for him to be credible in his job, he has to try to be objective/non biased.

HOWEVER, in his quest to appear to be non biased, he never, ever misses an opportunity to make some subtle or not so subtle jabs at Alabama. Rece Davis can be objective effortlessly. Greg, not so much.

Greg would be better suited studying Rece Davis’s style if he wants to be taken seriously.

Okay, sorry for the rant.

GMac has been really good on his radio show. Cubelic is much more favorable to Bama than he is to Auburn. GMacs biggest mistake was responding to trolls

Hey folks, it's all an act for views and clicks. Show business is not real life.

People saying McElroy doesn't like Bama are insane.

He literally won a national championship as the starting QB.

Just because he's not Roll Tide Willy screaming about how Bama is going to kick arse doesn't mean he's not a fan. He's got a job that requires him to sometimes be critical, and that's fine.

It's like family. Do I agree with all the decisions made by my family? No. Do I criticize them sometimes? Yes. Am I still intensely loyal to them even in times that I am unhappy with them? Yes.

That's how logical, loyal fans act. The love is there at all times. Doesn't mean it's sunshine and roses everyday.

Heaven forbid the man is objective while working for a network that somewhat requires it.

Greg is trying to be a professional analyst. He wants to be Kirk Herbstreit. I don't blame him. He doesn't have to take up for Bama. That's not his job.

I simply disagree with many of his takes. Has nothing to do with Bama or not.

Love the guy as a player.

I think most of that sensitivity is on the receiver's bias. Non-Bama fans hear him and call him a homer. We hear him and call him a traitor attempting to sell-out to appear non-bias.

Same with Herbie and tOSU fans.

Same with any Danielson called game. Both sets of fans can listen to the same broadcast and come away calling him a homer of the other team.

My only issue with McElroy is that he seems to get a lot of satisfaction out of being openly dismissive of anyone who does not share his opinion on a given subject. Smug is not a good look on anyone.

I like McElroy. He tries to be fair and still be an Alabama guy. That’s not always easy. But his take on the Proctor stuff was wrong. Iowa tampered. And then going after fans and former players calling him out is even worse.

Outside of this, and this was not a shot at Alabama, but at a player “using Alabama”, what exactly has Greg said bad about Alabama? Seriously? People talk about “jabs”, and “trying to be non-bias”. Give me some examples? He doesn’t make a living off JOX. He’s not trying to be Kirk herbstriet, he already is herbstriet, he just has to wait it out until herbstriet is gone. And if that doesn’t work out, he’s a Rhodes scholar. I mean, at least he’s not Jay Barker over here facing felonies and crap. Although, it was super apparent Alabama means a lot to Jay. Probably has a lot to do with him being an in state guy.

And he is not trying to be objective. He HAS to be objective or the other talking heads that sit on set with him will eat his lunch. And if IRC he’s always had our back related to getting into the playoffs.
