Most players are playing for their coach. No different than Harbaugh or Kirby, et al.

This would happen to anyone who has an elite coach, especially the greatest of all time. I don’t feel sorry for them at all, but it’s not surprising

I have the popcorn!

In seriousness, I wonder what DeBoers limit is if they loss 3-4 games next year. Not like they have mad cash to spend on the coaching carousel.

Maybe. Probably. For the past seventeen years of success totally worth it so we’ll take some bumps in the road right now.

Every player goes for a coach not a school now. It’s not 1970 anymore.

Kids these days don't go play for either one.... they play for the business that is forking over that NIL money.

Players play for coaches. There aren't a bunch of Rudys winning football games.

Most recruits knowledge about a school comes from the coaches that recruit them.

It's not wrong to commit to a coach. But the coach needs to convince you that he'll be there for a bit. If he says he'll be there then isn't (due to firing or retiring), many players will bolt.

Pretty much the only time a player commits to a school and not the coach is when they are long time fans of the school. That's not super common.
