I know the Bama hate is strong here, and I don’t blame you for it. But take your hatred away for a second. If the rumors are true that Georgia and OSU are in a bidding war for a college player, and that this bidding war has already gone over the million dollar mark for a season, then college football as we have known it and loved it is dead.

You haven't been paying attention for awhile now, hoss.

And it's happened to us previously. Certain school has been happy to pay more.

This. And every team will have their day to get kicked in the nuts by this abomination.

Dammit we've got a well-adjusted Bammer here.

Quite possibly. The only question is, will whatever it morphs into be palatable at all. And we probably won't know for years and with some hindsight.

I can't believe we went from tight restrictions on everything to almost no restrictions on anything, and within such a short time period. Surely there's a way to impose some degree of reasonable middle ground limitations on things.

I mean congrats on everyone's W I guess. Is everyone really happy knowing that the school you graduated from and have pride in is just a stepping stone and paycheck to the players now? Your team's best players are always gonna be subject offers from some uber rich guy with box seats in your rival's stadium. This is a melt over the loss of CFB more than Bama. I still loved CFB when Bama was in the dumpster 20 years ago

Yep, but it's been dead for a few years now. We just haven't, collectively, as fans realized it. We hold onto to our same routines out of habit. I used to love tracking recruiting, watching the player develop and go pro. Now, I couldn't name more than 5-6 players that Alabama recruited this past cycle.

And this past season, I watched a lot of FCS games. Some good, clean football is being played at that level. The playoffs were exciting to watch. Montana ND ST game was one of the best games I watched all year.
