I guess that answers the question of whether or not DeBoer keeps him.

DeBoer will likely bring his whole staff. Everyone may as well get onboard.

Welp, that likely seals the deal on downs.

Unbelievable.

There was only one coach worth keeping and Kirby cherry picked him.

You would think someone would have explained how important he was to recruiting down here, and our DBs have never played better.

WTF they cant have 3 co DCs ? Can we hire Schumann to come home ?

Damnit. So 3 DC’s now unless Muschamp or Schumann leave.

At Washington, DeBoer had two co-defensive coordinators: Bill Inge and Chuck Morrell. Their defensive numbers aren't eye popping at all, but they did have timely defense the four times I watched Washington this year (both games against Oregon and both playoff games). I've also said before that I was surprised to see the adjustments they made against Michigan.

It looked like they were getting blown off the ball in the first quarter and I honestly envisioned a massive blowout. I was in the game thread lamenting how PAC 12 teams just played no defense. But then they changed some things up and held Michigan to just two field goals for the next 30 some minutes. Like Bama in the Rose Bowl, they forced Michigan into a long string of three and outs.

So overall assessment of the two DCs at Washington is that they looked pretty solid but nothing phenomenal. DeBoer is definitely an offensive minded coach, which will be a culture shift for all of us. We were an offense first team from 2018-2022, but the culture from the head coach was obviously still defensively minded.

I'm still wondering why everyone thinks this guy is so great. He was a position coach for us. I didn't have any specific complaints with him, but I also don't think any of us knows what results on the field he was responsible for.

I know we want recruiters that are familiar with the south. I think Deboer understands that.

Obviously losing T-Rob from a recruiting perspective hurts. Wondering if he wanted to stay in the Saban defensive system.

Obviously moving to Georgia does not move the needle like him moving to other places.

Great hire for GA for sure they were going to be a monster with or without him

He did that just to get Caleb Downs.

Isn’t there. limit on the number of coaches? Are they cutting somewhere else?

Why would such a great recruiter/ coach like Kirby need TRob? All of Kirby's success is tied to BAMA.

That all changes with DeBoer.

What’s Kirby going to do now that he can’t copy all things Saban? I mean, really, has he had an original idea since he left ‘Bama?

Saban really isn’t gone, he’s now east chunky Saban.
