It's odd that you focus on this since Mizzou would've competed with the offer, had they been given the chance.
Considering we heard every excuse in the book on why he wouldn’t leave Missouri. Money. Pee wee football. “Lateral move”. Yet here we are.

All in all, it turned out great.
Sure beats missing the playoffs AND a NY6 bowl spot while having the Heisman Trophy winner on the roster.

Not making him the highest paid assistant in all of college football.
Go back and watch the Mizzou vs Florida game and tell me if you think he’s the best DC in the country.

They're too easy to poke.

No one expected LSU to make an above average DC the highest paid assistant in the country as if he’s the best DC in the country.

Mizzou was prepared to offer him the same, per the STL Post Dispatch.

And y’all couldn’t beat us with the worst defense in the country. We needed serviceable and we would have won.
Keep in mind he was 33rd best with Missouri’s trash arse recruiting. Wait until he’s got better talent.

Obviously that doesn’t exist at LSU.

Over the last 75 years, Alabama has won at least one national championship in every decade but the 80s.

No, Mizzou offered up to $2.2 million, not $2.5 million for 3 years.

Continue? It’s like 2-3 last 5? And that was with Saban.
Of course Bama should be still be good, but they are very beatable lately.
