They blitzed.

That's it. They made Milroe beat them through the air with limited time and he could not do it. Nice coaching job by Harbaugh.

No doubt. Can't believe Georgia didn't follow the blueprint that Texas laid out earlier in the season.

I think Kirby got cute with the double spies and has way too much confidence in his dbs. Nobody can guard fast receivers forever.

I was about to answer the same way. GA was scared of Milroe and tried to contain. Michigan scouting apparently discovered how poor and slow of a decision maker he was and just simply attacked.

armtackledawg is correct. I watched teams not blitz all season and knew it was the best way to beat Bama because Milroe flat couldn't compute what to do. Reese also could not adjust fast on his play calls. Harbaugh has a good enough coaching staff to figure this out.

Alabama played much more physical up front against Georgia than they did against Michigan. Alabama was more physical than Georgia, and Michigan was more physical than Alabama.

Beck's top two guys were also barely able to run, should not have been playing, missed a field goal, and gave up a field goal on a turnover.

Those four reasons are why we lost. Would we have lost yesterday to either team, not likely. Just like it was to our advantage Jameson Williams and John Metchie were both inured. Its how it rolls sometimes.

Go Huskies!

How did Kirby Smart not know that Milroe couldn't read defenses?

I like Milroe, I think he's a good kid and a fine athlete. But, for once, BoB was right. Those things make him a decent person and a fine athlete, not a excellent to great qb.

He was our best opportunity to win this season. But between Simpson, Lonergan, Holstein, and Sayin, we should have a better pure qb for 24.

One more point is that defense wasn't the problem, Georgia only scored 24 points due to puzzling playcalling in the 2nd and 3rd quarters, plus Bowers and McConkey should not have been playing with those injuries.

You mean sitting back and letting Milroe have 10 seconds to throw a pass isn’t the best strategy? Huh. Who knew?

Kirby is not quite as good as a DC as people want to believe.

Michigan has a better defense than UGA. Michigan looked and played like an elite SEC defense. Michigan would bully UGA worse than they did Bama.

Also, Bama's pass blocking was really poor. Michigan has a really good defense.

They have a good defense and they schemed well against Milroe. Next week I think they struggle mightily against Penix and those receivers.

2nd SEC Championship game vs Saban in a row where Kirby called a bizarre defensive game plan.

Played soft zone and let Bryce Young torch them in Atlanta in ‘21 and then had a strange game plan vs Milroe when all they really had to do was blitz him just like Michigan.

Kirby has some sort of weird voodoo with Saban that’s keeping him from being up there with Saban as greatest coach of all time. Saban alone has cost Kirby 2 more national titles. 4 national titles in your first 8 seasons would be unprecedented territory…

Saban doesn’t blitz that much. Where did Kirby learn? Hmmm

Yep. Another factor.
