This board is unbelievable

The OL was atrocious in pass protection. The center couldn't snap the ball for the majority of the game. The play calling on offense was sub par. How many busted coverages on defense did Bama have with guys running wide arse open?? All those things happened yet Milroe is getting most of the hate. We don't beat A&M, LSU, or UGA without him. Did he play his best game? No he didnt, but the hate this board has shown him is outrageous when his growth and play this season is the main reason Bama was in the CFP.

Everyone is tired of having a project at QB, and this is semi pro ball now so...
Dude cant read a defense, cant make a throw up the seam, cant make a throw to the flat, cant hit a slant, doesnt know what a hot read is, fumbles a lot for seemingly no reason, and takes more 15yd loss sacks of any "mobile" QB in history.
We need a real QB, not an athlete playing QB

Yep. He'll be terrible next year. No QB in college football history has made any improvements between their 1st and 2nd year as a starter.

You can find countless examples of him doing all those things you say he can't.I do agree completely that the sacks is a massive issue. He tries to do too much at times and it results in too many of those sacks.
Just admit you were and are rooting for the kid to fail.
Do you think we beat A&M, LSU or UGA with anyone else that is on the roster???

All of that can be true but so can Milroe not being very good last night.
He was awful.
Good QBs have overcome worse and his accuracy was non existent even in clean pockets.
It’s ok to tell it like you see. You don’t have to blindly support a QB just because you like him.
Milroe has to get better. Much better.

Stat sheet definitely tells the whole story. Where in the stat sheet does it show any of the other problems above I listed?

Every damn player on the team that is returning needs to get better. Every single coach needs to get better as well.

Let’s not be disingenuous and act like QB isn’t way more important than other positions. Of course guys need to improve but I think guys like Bond and Downs aren’t the issue. They are great players.
Milroe unfairly or not gets looked at different because he plays the most important position.
Jalen Milroe needs to work on technique. Mechanics. Throwing motion. He’s capable. We’ll see.

Personally, I think it was an all around team loss.
Coaches didn’t coach that great.
Milroe didn’t play great.
Offensive line wasn’t good.
Defensive front wasn’t good.
Linebackers and secondary got confused in coverage multiple times.
Kick returns weren’t good.
Only guys who don’t deserve blame are Reichard and Burnip.

Lol... what are you 12 years old ?
I was hoping he would develop into the best QB in the country, but hes clearly limited in what he can do.

There is some to what you said, but you need to ask questions about some of the rest. Can he complete a slant consistently? What about his hot reads? We don’t know the answer to either because it requires one very simple thing, and that’s a consistently clean snap.
As many issues as I had with the playcalling, how much of it was dictated by the inability to snap football. I’d fire today whoever was coaching the center that’s the worst performance I’ve ever seen at the major college level and it wasn’t just one game maybe because he was dinged up, it was all season long

Well usually in those cases it’s a young QB who forces things instead of throwing the ball away to live another day. Milroe’s issues are more foundational so I doubt we see much improvement unless we completely scrap the type of offense we run.
Now we may see improvement on the OL and at RB so that might take pressure off of Milroe. But Milroe is never going to be a QB that can make most of the reads necessary to have a full playbook offense.

The fact that he has started for an entire year and still can't hit the short and intermediate routes is pretty concerning. The pass where he tried to hit Miller coming out of the back field in the right flat was just horrible and not even anywhere close to being completed. Throws like that should be gimmes by this point in his development.

My wife was screaming at the TV, why can't we get a center that can snap the ball right, he's been awful all season long.

If coaching could have fixed the snap issues, they would have been resolved a long time back. You know they would have consulted with experts to get it fixed. It sort of makes me wonder if it was a long term injury he was playing through (and there was not a better alternative to him).

Eh, quarterback is always going to take the blame. Milroe is a flawed player but was the best we had this year and I feel gave great effort. Hopefully he will get better in the offseason. I refuse any suggestion, though, that he alone is why we lost that game. We got outplayed across the board and outcoached across the board.
Our fans are spoiled after having a good run of QBs. Milroe is above average in the college game but definitely not elite this year. Maybe he will change that in 2024.

He absolutely can hit those throws, and has in most of our games this season.

He hit the same play perfectly for a TD just a game ago. I think that he was playing tight and nervous last night, and when he kept getting sacked by free rushers in the first half it only made it worse. Milroe's problem is consistency, not ability.

He should hit that every time, and he wasn't even close yesterday.
