But a new wrinkle is that an SEC coach is likely to succeed Harbaugh. That would be Brian "not Jim" Kelly, who supposedly spent 16 years coaching in Michigan and wants to go back.

I personally think there is a greater than 50% chance all this happens, which leads me to wonder about LSU's next move.

Now, before anyone gets upset, I think Saban plans to stay for at least 3 years, and I'm all for it.
He is set up very nicely at qb and our overall talent should be as high as ever... and I am happy about that and want him to stay as long as he is happy and can get the job done...

But... with the demise of Dabo, it has been apparent to me that Kiffin has been trying to maintain solid relations with Saban because my sense it Tha Bama is the Job Kiffin wants. And I have come to believe that, at Bama, Kiffin can win at the highest level.

Unfortunately, I'm thinking Kiffen is the coach at LSU next year, and that means there is gonna be no natural "continuity" candidate out there if and when Coach decides to hang it up.

Whether or not Jim Harbaugh turns down the 125 million offer from Michigan and bolts for the NFL.

Michigan is not paying Brian Kelly over 100M dollars to be their coach. Seems very unlikely he leaves the money on the table at LSU unless he really hates it there.

I would put this near zero that this is how it plays out. Kelly going to Michigan is very far fetched.

We’ve all seen the same tweets and articles. It’s Brian Kelly btw.

Some of you will create ways to melt. All of those maybes just to worry over Lane potentially taking the LSU job. Sheesh.

I doubt Jim Kelly will be the next coach at Michigan. I don’t know how this opens up the LSU job even if he does decide to come out of retirement and coach for the first time.

Oh Jim Kelly the Bills QB. That makes sense. I thought he meant the dead blacksploitation actor was going to return and lead the Bengal Tigers to glory as a zombie. I figure they are in Louisiana so they had the voodoo power to make it happen. I would be worried either way but I definitely prefer a scenario without the living dead involved.

Sorry. Meant to say Brian Kelly. And according to the podcast I listened to he wants the job and has deep tied to the state.

Why the hostility?

Do you think Harbaugh will leave?

Do you think Kelly might want the job?

Do you think Kiffin aspires to the Bama job?

Would LSU go for kiffen?

Simple questions? No need to be nasty or snarky. Try not to be a butthole on Christmas eve.

That joke was not snarky or nasty, it was well written and included TWO call backs. It was near It's a Wonderful Life Level quality. My suggestion is you loosen up, get into the egg nog and forget all about Gene Kelly dancing his way to Michigan.

So your saying that it's not worthy of discussion?

AND it's the "post less" comment that I was referring to. Of course, simple minds will jump on the "Jim Kelly"
misstatement with their silly little posts. But the "post less" guy who references my many inferior posts as though every entry he makes is a little dose of Mark Twain for the board; that guy is the poster boy for the embittered internet jock, alone and half lit on the eve of our saviors birthday, dropping nasties between pee breaks, and hoping his girlfriend from 6 years ago calls him. She's moved on loser.

I read any NFL team hiring Harbaugh risks the league suspending him after the NCAA infractions ruling. They aren't required to, but there's precedent.

But I still think Harbaugh leaves Michigan, but I don't think they want Kelly. Probably his agent planting stories to try and artificially enhance his client's "desirability" in the market.

Yes because UM is about to get hammered. UM just received the first notice regarding the recruiting violations via CJH the other day. Once the playoffs are over I expect the sign stealing is next.

No reason for him to. He is at the perfect place. His teams this year finished strong and if he can repeat next year Ole Miss will be in the playoffs. The expectations at Ole Miss are not as high as LSU.

Sounds like an old fashioned jimmy rustle to me.

What the hell is going on in this thread?

LSU could always go after the FSU coach. Lane could’ve had the Auburn job but stayed at Ole Miss. Auburn could’ve had Kirby but picked Gus. You never know how these things work out.
