Where are the big ad campaigns featuring these kids that make their NIL worth millions? The general public dont know who most of them are or ever will.

NIL, transfer portal, playoff, have all been awful for the sport

I'm sure you'd rather them sacrifice their bodies for your entertainment for free.

This is what I thought NIL would be. But it's not. Instead Collectives were established.

Not sure about other schools, but a lot of Texas athletes are using NIL as intended.

Bijan with Lamborghini.
Ewers with 7-Eleven, HEYDUDE shoes and C4 energy.
Sam Hurley (track) with Ralph Lauren, DoorDash and GNC.
Xavier Worthy with American Airlines, Sonic and Fortnite.
Kelvin Banks with Bose
I left Manning off because he’s an outlier.

Explain how NIL has been bad for Alabama football and made it less enjoyable for you, please.

Yeah KJ Jefferson supposedly gets by far the most NIL at Arkansas and I have yet to see any kind of advert with him.

1. Are we really going to pretend like Alabama players for years didn't have the sickest car collection of any program in the nation?

2. These kids aren't going to school to learn plain and simple, I don't know why anyone still believes this, it generally seems it's always the over 45+ year old crowd. "They are getting a free education, stiped, world class training blah blah blah. That arguement is so elementary. Everyone in the Rant is the issue, myself included. We are obsessed with cfp because it's awesome and you have too many people making tens of millions off these kids. The money is too big now and the routines and time required to perform at the highest level of college football and study something of ACTUAL meaning is impossible. Let's not pretend like these kids are supposed to play football at Bama, Lsu, Oregon, OSU, Michigan, Texas and then go be hedge fund managers, Drs, Lawyers, Accountants, Execs, Investment Bankers etc, business owners etc. I'm not saying the kids aren't smart enough TO DO it, the system they are in during school doesn't allow for that.

3. Because of the point above, the schools trick and lie to themselves by thinking these kids are getting a real education and once they are done playing the schools really do nothing to help the kids that made so much money off their backs. There are exceptions but let's just call a spade a spade. How are you going to study something of value i.e. Math, accounting, economics, finance, computer science etc and play D1 college football at a top program lol that's laughable.

4. The school admins make way too much off these kids too, if you work in education you have never been in a position to get paid for your performance, you're a figurehead, you're not a real earner. Those roles pay well but you have a constant cash flow stream yearly off elite recruits. Rob Mullens, Oregons AD has never worked in private enterprise lol. He makes 1-2m a year with bonuses. What did he ever earn if we look at it that way? Before Nil you get Chip Kelly that recruits Mariota and he takes Oregon on a run and Mullens salary gets bumped while the kids make nothing?

5. So who cares if some kid from disadvantaged circumstances makes a couple million bucks because he transferred from Oregon to LSU. Most of these kids at least 98% of them won't ever see an NFL field, doesn't matter how much work they put in and they aren't in a position to learn something of real value during school so what's it to us?

6. I hope these kids start earning multiple millions because they deserve it, because these are elite and the free market rewards performance and skill based traits that people possess that very few do. No different in life or capitalism. That is how the world works, doesn't matter if you're 19 or 29 or 59.

7. College sports are more competitive than ever, look at D1 bball last year during March Madness, all the parity. That doesn't exist without nil, portals and kids getting paid for their likeness. Look at all the college football teams with 0-2 losses this year, same thing. If a kid wants to get paid for his services elsewhere, why should he explore that? No different than an employee wanting to find another job. Unique traits, skills and intellect get financially rewarded. Doesn't matter if it's athletics or in a career. Doesn't matter what age either.

8. Now I will say, I think kids having access to changing teams every year if they want creates a bad mindset at times. It teaches kids to not stick through things and go through the hardships of life. But that is up to them and their parents to figure out, not us.

Saban hated NIL because it took away his ability to “buy” recruits.
