12 team playoff. There will be at least 2 no matter what

Well even with an expanded playoff there could be enough losses for everyone that could keep the SEC out of the top 12.

Big picture:
SEC and Big 10 just said "frick 'em all. Burn the power 5 to the ground. It's power 2 now."
You don't have to be undefeated as a power 2 team to get in the playoffs. There will be 2 loss power 2 teams. All the others will have to be undefeated conference champs to get a seat at the table.

There's gonna be 12 teams. Again, it will come down to record or better team. These conferences are gonna continue to expand so this is just the beginning.

Everyone has a brutal November. It’s those late season losses that worry me.

We will still get 3-4 teams in the playoffs since Big Ten will be going through a similar gauntlet in their own right.

On top of any team's difficult schedule, add in the SECCG, which should pit 2 Top 10 teams playing again.

You are right. This is gonna be murder for everyone.

Don't be afraid of competition. I thought you were a bammer.

That’s what we brag about as a conference.
“Toughest conference in the country.”
Well, here you go…strap on your helmet.

I’m not afraid of the competition but you can get to cute and make something to hard. If a couple of the top SEC teams take a bad loss early in the year for whatever reason then that November everyone has plus the SECCG could put the SEC out of the playoff. I’m just trying to be realistic and practical about the situation.

Theoretically, two teams in the SEC could play each other three times in a season (reg. season, conference championship & playoffs). Nobody wants to see that. Even as a fan of one of the two, I don’t want to see that.
