For anyone complaining about cherry picking by the committee or it using arbitrary reasoning, etc. I hope none of you were cheering from the hills the decision to scrap the BCS and move to the current system ten years ago.

Who would have thought having a small group of people decide championship contenders would ever lead to bias and disappointment? Who could have predicted that 4 spots would always end up leaving someone left out? It’s almost like this was done intentionally. Frankly they should have kept the old ranking process and had the top 4 (or now 12, but since they’ve ruined the bowls already it should be 16 at least) play in the playoff - if something had to be done.

FWIW, I don’t really mind the selections for this year.

1 loss Bama getting in over FSU, but why no butthurt about Texas over FSU?
Because it's about spots and the public expectation is that if a P5 team went undefeated and there was a spot available they earned it. History supports this. The 4th available spot was between two 1 loss teams and Texas held the tie breaker beating Bama. That's why Texas doesn't get the heat.

If UGA had won FSU was still going to be on the outside looking in.

It would have been four undefeated teams:

Georgia
Michigan
Washington
FSU

Media had an agenda and the committee fell in line. Plain, simple, and not exactly rocket science. It started the week before the championship if you simply read the tea leaves.

I heard all week long that Texas deserved to be in over FSU, and I don't even live in the state. As I said, this is my shocked face ... FSU should beat the crap out of UGA and claim the National Championship. I'm hoping they do so.

The media needs to be held accountable for their terrible behavior. Best four my arse

The committee had seen enough Cincy and TCU's in the playoffs. FSU wasn't even at that level and would get beatdown. As far as FSU's defense getting better, well playing the Wakes, BC's and Syracuse will do that.

This was a big indictment on the ACC moreso than FSU. The committee thinks very little of the conference and I agree. FSU even knows this and are about to get out.

. And then they lost another 1,000 yard recover for the CFP final where they weee TOTALLY OUTMATCHED by UGA.
Are we talking about the game that Alabama had more first downs, total yardage, and time of possession in the game, and led at halftime?...That one?....

Correct. I think FSU was #4 and Bama was #5.

Were they really one of the “4 best teams” that the ESPN/CFP cartel cite as criteria now?

Yeah, there have been so many first round sacrificial lambs in the four team playoffs that acting like the committee selects “the four best teams” is preposterous.

I can't quite seem to find this as part of the selection criteria. Maybe you can help me out?

If you turn your brain on, you can see that I was replying to a post that said Bama’s 12-1 was clearly better than FSU’s 13-0 because of SOS. Numbers do not back that up.

If your piece of crap team had done its job and beat a wounded FSU team, this would not even be an issue. Quit whining. They should get left out for not throttling Sunbelt Billie alone.

A P5 conference.

Clemson and FSU are recent national Champs.

Miami is in the conference too.

Not shite.

Miami and Clemson would be middle pack of the SEC today. the rest of the conference is filled with basketball schools that start primarily 2 star and 3 star football players in weak enviorments/atmospheres. There is a reason Bowden did not want to join the SEC all those years ago and was able to establish 10+ years of top 10 teams.

I think with the expansion of the playoff, being in the SEC isn't the most intelligent move. I wish A&M would leave ... could get away from those assholes in Austin again. Life is better without them.
