As a lawyer I immediately scrolled to the downvote button without reading because you don’t speak for us

Georgia lost the SECCG game to - wait for it - Alabama, and then proceeded to win the national championship
Difference being Alabama lost two 1st round WR's between game one and game two. Georgia should not have been there. Alabama had already proven emphatically they were the better team so the mUlliGAn really was just copious amounts of bullshite

I don't disagree, but Michigan's 3 best wins (vs #7 Ohio State, @ #10 Penn St, N #17 Iowa) are "better" than Georgia's 2 best wins (vs #9 Mizzou, vs #11 Ole Miss, @ #21 Tennessee). So it kind of washes out, there. Then you throw in that Michigan is undefeated and Georgia isn't plus Michigan won the B1G and Georgia didn't win the SEC, and you can see where they fell the way they fell.
I believe the B10's nigh 20-year track record in the BCS / playoffs vs. the SEC (and especially vs. Georgia / Alabama, recently) should help the committee forsee what would undoubtedly be another Georgia drubbing of Michigan.
However, even excluding that consideration, your argument (again, I think it's a fair one) could place Michigan at #1. However, that would still leave Georgia in the playoffs with a hard backstop at #4.

Short version: If 1-loss Alabama can get in over FSU, then 1-loss UGA should get in over Michigan.
Thanks for summarizing. Some of us are at work and don't have time to read part 2 of "Mein Kampf".

Stopped reading at “lawyers perspective”, especially regarding football. Lawyers have helped ruin sports in general; heck, they’ve helped destroy the county.
Disclaimer: not all lawyers are blood thirsty sociopaths that go to school to learn how to spin, lie & create new laws in DC for job security, but MOST ARE! And Goodell is a lawyer, he helped ruin the NFL, so minus points there as well.
We need less lawyers and the ones that are around, keep your football perspectives off TD.

So, in the sport of football, you are relying on one team's injuries at a skill position to delegitimize the other team's national championship?
Sir, do you watch football?

It is a post on a website. If you have no actual critique, I'll assume you agree with everything posted and have no counterarguments. I know its unusual to read more than three lines of a Tweet in modern day society, but a few paragraphs is hardly much "reading."

Rank advancement is irrelevant as the committee re-ranks the entire Top 25 from scratch each week. Can you argue that their previous rankings were silly? Obviously. Alabama and Texas being behind Oregon was always egregious based on the facts on the ground (not to mention Ohio State).
If the prior ranks are irrelevant, then how can the committee determine what constitutes "quality" wins and losses? Why would championship games carry any weight given that one's opposition is neither "strong" nor "weak" since pre-playoff rankings are irrelevant? Why would Alabama advance four spots if Georgia's #1 ranking was meaningless?
I appreciate your arguments. You are helping me see why the committee made the decisions that they did. However, those decisions were ultimately erroneous and logically incoherent. Thank you, though, for the insight from the other side.

Not enough hence, henceforths, for a lawyer. But, Georgia is one of best four undoubtedly.

You cowards could have kept Oklahoma on your schedule, but decided to schedule yet another cupcake instead. You needed a real win over a proven winner, and you were allowed that opportunity in the SECCG. As usual Bama skull dragged your team up and down the field and dominated in the trenches.
The conference championship is usually the first round of the playoffs. Win or go home. That's why it's really weird you were somehow voted in after being demolished by Bama two years ago.
Now be a good dog, and Go beat FSU and make us all proud.

I am a lawyer who disagreed with virtually every move made by the NCAA in the past decade.
Also, as a lawyer, its my - and everyone else's - constitutional right to express an opinion regarding college football. No one profession enjoys a special right to debating NCAAFB.

To be fair, I can't say I was summarizing because I didn't read it either.

1. Oklahoma cancelled the game to the dismay of UGA.
2. Georgia has as many top-25 ranked wins as any other team in the playoffs.
3. Georgia lost to Bama by a missed FG. You need to open a dictionary and find the colloquial definition of "dragged" as it relates to sports.
4. Wresting from my remembrance, Georgia then beat that same Alabama team to win a national championship. Checkmate.
5. Show me where it states that playoff games serve as first-round elimination games and I'll concede the point. Otherwise, you're simply prosing out of ignorance.

The SEC East is garbage. The nonconference was garbage.
UGA played one elite team and lost. No one gives a shite what UGA did the prior two seasons when half or more of the starters are in the NFL.
