The hatred is real

The finalists will be honored at the 32nd annual Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicker Awards Banquet on December 4th in Palm Beach County. The same voting panel then selects the winner, who will be announced live on ESPN at the Home Depot College Football Awards on Friday, December 8th

I don't feel like this is actually a thing. I feel like there are just as many media members that have great respect for what Alabama has done as those who are fatigued/negative.

Regardless, on this season alone the Nicholson kid from Miami probably deserves it, but Will maybe will get it as sort of a career achievement. He's had a very good season.

Reichard did miss a couple of key kicks this season. Perhaps this fact played a part.
Also, he never had to trot out on the field with 3 seconds left and nailed a 50 yarder for the win.

Missed too many big kicks. The Will Anderson of kickers. No show in the games that count.

WTF?

Will Anderson showed up big in multiple games that 'counted'...

2020
----
@LSU 8 Tackles, 2 Sacks
Auburn 4 Tackles, 1.5 TFL, 1 Sack
Florida (SECCG) 6 Tackles, 2 Sacks, 1 Forced Fumble

2021
----
Miami-FL 9 Tackles, 1 Sack
@Florida 7 Tackles, 2 TFL
LSU 12 Tackles, 4 TFL, 1.5 Sacks, 1 PD
@Auburn 7 Tackles, 3 TFL, 1 Sack
UGA (SECCG) 6 Tackles, 2 TFL, 1 Sack
Cincy (CFP Semi-Final), 6 Tackles, 2 Sacks

2022
----
@Texas 5 Tackles, 2 TFL, 1 Sack
Iron Bowl 5 Tackles, 3 TFL, 2 Sacks

Saved Bama in overtime against Auburn in 2021. Game winner versus Texas in 2022. Hit a massive kick to force overtime against LSU in 2022. You might also remember that Bama won its last game by a field goal margin. Bandwagoners are going to be in rough shape when Reichard graduates and they realize that the Bama norm for kicking over the last 30 years has been holding your breath for every extra point.

Also in 2020 UGA had just scored a go ahead touchdown with 23 seconds left in the first half and had gained all the momentum. Will hit a 52 yard bomb going into to the half to deflate that momentum. I believe him stealing their momentum before half helped tremendously in our blowing them out in the second half. Wild people want to disrespect probably the best kicker we've ever had.

Geez, sorry the kid isn’t perfect.

Best kicker ever for Alabama, with more points than anyone in the history of college football and you still find something to harp on the kid about?

This is a great example of why some Alabama fans get a bad rap.

He also missed a FG in the Iron Bowl this year. Instead of a chip shot to win it (hopefully) we had to complete a miracle 4&31. I’m not saying he’s not good, but he ain’t the best. Sorry, no sunshine at the pump today.

Will Anderson…total of 2 tackles and 1 sack in the two 2022 losses per Fox Sports.

he missed 3 kicks, all from a specific distance and angle. Obviously that's a struggle spot for him. But he has been perfect outside of that area.

Why do we upvote one set of stats for Will and downvote another? Do you not think it’s relevant that he averaged 1 tackle and .5 sacks in the two losses last year?

This.

Will at ~40/yds from the left hash all looked like identical misses. Slight pushes to the right.

Because most of us are choosing not to shite talk two of the best players in program history because they weren’t perfect. You’re the worst kind of fan.

I am just open minded. You and your kind are blissfully ignorant of reality. You can support the team and players while also being objective. I admit that I underestimated Milroe. I’m sure that I wasn’t alone. I’m not however saying that he is a Heisman candidate or the best QB in the SEC or even the West. He has had some really bad moments but he is a winner and he is clutch. I don’t think the other two are.

Nobody is talking about Milroe in this thread. Nobody was talking about Will Anderson either. You can’t help yourself.
