Jay Williams on the Bama "crowd": “What’s the point of playing at home if it’s not gonna have a home court advantage? Like, this doesn’t feel like a home-court advantage at all for Alabama. The place is not packed, the fans don’t seem to be engaged. It seems to be more like a tennis match.”

I don’t really care what Jay Williams thinks about a Tuesday night 9pm home crowd.

How sad. All Mulkey Man can do is post about Alabama over and over and over.

Jay Williams seems to be on a roll making SEC fans mad. Last week he said DJ Wagner should transfer from Kentucky to Louisville... for no apparent reason at all.

I their defense that was a late tip game. I will be going to Auburn tonight for a "scheduled" 8:15pm tip.

I wonder how many from Mobile, Huntsville even Birmingham will make that trip.

I am aggravated the SEC let ESPN tell teams what time to play.

I am also aggravated about inflation.

I’ve seen multiple users post that in response to your Alabama inferiority complex in my short time here.

Sad.

In defense of the crowd look at the Arena size. How many does Auburn arena hold? 8k? Coleman holds 15k. There was easily 8k in Tuscaloosa last night. So we would have sold out Auburn arena last night.....

It's late November in Alabama. Basketball is not a priority right now. He obviously doesn't follow football.
So many teams get into the NCAAT that not many people outside of the bluebloods follow this shite until February.

I wonder what Jay Williams would think about Auburn’s 9:00 pm weeknight crowd tonight. Check in tonight to see if you can see a difference.

I came here to commend you for the olive branch, but in reality you just put your arm around them and punched them in the nuts with your other hand.

Tuscaloosa is also 45 minutes from Birmingham while Auburn is 2 hours away… which is why our arena is smaller. You move metro Birmingham to where Alex City sits and we would be filling a 15k seat arena on a weeknight without all those empty seats.

Basketball is a priority if you're a great program. Auburn runs the state in basketball and always will as long as Bruce Pearl is head coach.

alabama had a nice flash in the pan season last year. Still couldn't get it done in the tournament when it mattered.

Auburn fans trying to pretend they're a great basketball fanbase is pretty hilarious.

Not many. By the time someone comes home from Birmingham after a 830 game it'll be after 11pm. Nobody is doing that on a working weekday.

I think historically SEC programs could care less about hoops until football season is over except for Kentucky

And back in the day recruiting and signing day in February made for even less interest in hoops

At least you see better sec attendance and support once conference play starts
