Do we look at Will Rogers to come in as a Grad transfer? He’s had a down year at Moo State, but Soph/Jr year was great.

I think he could fit in CHF’s scheme fairly well.

Not sure what the crossover between the air raid and HF's offense, but I'd rather not have a guy come in learning a new system...especially for one year.

I’m interested in the Ga QB situation going forward. That’s a very crowded room and if Beck stays no way all of those guys stay

No

To elaborate what I posted on the recruiting board

quote:

Can Rogers run the RPO? His feet are made of bricks and has -300 career rushing yards but he has put up a lot of yards and TD’s via the Air Raid. This year in a “normal offense” his stats are not as good as Thorne’s. I’d rather have Thorne (in his second season in the system) than Rogers next year honestly but we need to bring in a portal QB no matter what. I just don’t see Roger’s as a huge upgrade. We need to wait to see who enters after the season and go after the best fit - not the first QB to go into the portal.

ETA: Rogers’ best year came in 2021 where he threw the ball 683 times for 4700 yards and 36 TDs. He got those numbers based on sheer volume. Thorne has thrown 222 passes for 1500 yards and 14 TDs. All else equal if Thorne had 666 pass attempts in one year he has 4500 yards and 42 TDs. They’re actually pretty similar in completion percentage with an edge to Rogers. Thorne averages more YPA on his throws and he is more mobile.

I cannot care less about Georgia's QB situation. That is like Lucy pulling the football every offseason.

I’d rather have 2nd half of the season Thorne. At least he can run.

Will Rogers would do nothing for y’all’s QB room. He is a system QB and he wouldn’t last a full game running the offense Freeze does.

Y’all have the war chest to go get the top QB in the portal whoever that may be.

I would love for us to go with a young guy instead of another bandaid for another year. I would really love for Auburn to have a 3 year quarterback even if we had to suffer a year from it. It would be nice not to have to re-invent the wheel every spring

We offered Brock Vandagriff $750K. I’m sure the offer still stands.
