Stolen from AUF (who took it from Facebook):
AU stuff on his wall:

Could the biggest Auburn fan in the world live a half a world away?
He’s a fan who has never seen an Auburn sporting event in person. He has Auburn greats tattooed on his arms and he has a dog named “Gus”. Right there in the heart of England.
And get this: He's heading to Auburn this November for the Iron Bowl!
Drive an hour northeast of Liverpool and you will find him. Paul Mortimer lives in the small town of Westhoughton, where dreams come true. Paul works as an IT engineer for the local city council. He also performs on weekends, singing and playing his guitar.
Now, Paul Mortimer may live in England, but Paul Mortimer loves country music. Of course, good country music comes from the good ‘ole south in good ‘ole USA. Over ten years ago, Paul was searching for a country music station on the internet and came across a station from Montgomery, Alabama. In between songs, the DJ’s would often offer updated scores on Auburn football.
“What is this Auburn football?”, Paul thought to himself- football to him involved set pieces and corner kicks. The fall of 2013 arrived in the land of soccer, and in November of that year, Paul’s heart skipped a beat.
“The Alabama-Auburn game was being televised in the United Kingdom,” Paul tells me.
“I decided to see what American football was all about.” Paul Mortimer picked quite a game to learn about American football.
Auburn’s Chris Davis shocked the world. Thousands of fans flooded the field. The Kick Six sent chills down Paul Mortimer’s spine. It was the beginning of a love affair with the orange and blue.
Paul began streaming everything Auburn: Basketball, baseball, softball gymnastics, even equestrian. He decided to have some fun and created a Facebook page called British Auburn Fan. That’s when the floodgates opened.
“It has been so exciting,” Paul tells me. “Finding Auburn memorabilia in England is nearly impossible, but an amazing thing happened,” said Paul. “Auburn fans from all over the world started sending me memorabilia.” “T-shirts and caps, clothing, mugs, shakers, license plates and letters.” It’s September of 2023, and Peter’s home in England has become a shrine to the Tigers. Orange and blue everywhere.
His wife Allie and kids Kora, Adam and Isaac are just going with it. Auburn everywhere- more tattoos are on their way. In Westhoughton, England, the town folks work hard, just like they do across the pond.
Paul wanted to visit Auburn a few years back, but he lost his father from Covid-19. The following year, Allie broke her back in several places, so Paul stayed in England with his wife. But months ago, Paul Mortimer’s dream was getting close to becoming a reality.
“It’s really happening,” Paul told me.
“I have booked my flight to Auburn.”
“I’m going to the Iron Bowl this fall!”
It will be the first time that Paul has seen an Auburn game of any sort in person.
“I can’t wait,” Paul Mortimer told me,
“It’s going to be the most memorable trip of my life.”
Yes, a husband and father from England will be yelling, "War Eagle" this weekend.
Yelling that will be heard thousands of miles away. And that is the story of the biggest Auburn fan in the world. A man who lives in the small town of Westhoughton, England. A small town where dreams really do come true. *Be sure to say "hello" to Paul or send him a "War Eagle" and/or a letter, as he's way over in England waiting to hear from you.

He’s probably used to soccer crowds and soccer stadiums.
They’re fun, but it’s nothing like walking into Jordan-Hare for the Iron Bowl. He’s in for a treat.

They're hyper passionate and it has a long storied tradition. Never been to a European match but have been to one in South America (also pretty crazy). Sections of the stadium get so wild it's not a family event.
Europe Soccer

Full disclosure - I have not yet read all of this guy's story and stuff (but will), but he has some competition with Dee Ford (MS. Dee Ford). If for some strange reason they have not met yet, they must. Shirley we have an Alumni Club in London that can make this happen. What an AUsome Auburn story, and I can say that as an expat of 28 years here in Japan. Make it happen everyone. For a change of pace, the UK is there for our taking.

Yes, he or she can. That's my fricking arse. The UK is a hop and skip 6 hour flight across the Atlantic Ocean vs. a 13-17 hour direct flight from Atlanta to Narita "International" Airport) then another 5 hours+ of ground transportation by all means available. Sorry, but the UK is "NOT" half-way around the world and a a door-to-door trip from my home in Japan takes roughly 3X the time and effort. But frick that for now. I want everyone here to KNOW that the AU Family is spread War Eagled around the world. Every fricking corner or space of this earth, there is at least one AU fan / Family member present. And Reppin', and giving caps and Tees for Christmas or birthday presents. Personally, if AU would send just ONE scout here for any sport (especially hoops, ala Rui Hachimura, etc. or baseball - I don't need to say anything else about the level of talent here) I could and would set up tryouts, translate, maybe deliver a bag. It's a fricking waste!
Ms. Dee Ford and her story. It's Ausome.
ETA to UK AU Alumni Club people. Get these guys together for the Iron Bowl at a watch club party from the favorite pub. LIVESTREAM IT. Bring some hooligans, lol. Once the UK soccer freaks figure out how bad-arse football is and the passion our fanbase has AROUND the globe, they'll be hooked. Who wouldn't be? UK Alum Club - Please make this happen. War Eagle from Japan.
Sorry, just got caught up. UK AU Alumni Club - we need to send Dee to the Iron Bowl. I don&t care what it takes, but these two Brits need to experience Iron Bowl 2023 TOGETHER. They are our family. Let's do this. Please. WDE!
ETA - I mean this does and does not have to be a "PR" stunt. But their stories should be told. Simply that. Part of the AU Family. But they should both be together in Auburn for the Iron Bowl this year. Think what you like - the PR would be unmatched, and all for the right reasons. National TV, live from British Pubs full of AU fans. I dare a Brit to ride in wearing Crimson. This needs to happen. Let's do it, please.

There’s a guy on auburn Twitter who predates both Dee and this guy. His name is Ross Collings, from Halstead, he’s been to several games and I believe he had some family that attended around the 08-13 years. He’s a good dude and a HUGE auburn fan.

I know we like to think this, but a Liverpool/ Man U, Liverpool/city or city/Man U match is every bit as rowdy if not much more. Those frickers get insane.

Let's bring them all to the Iron Bowl. Will be the biggest game at JHS in.....years. Lots of us want to "do our part" and debate giving to OTV, etc. That's great. But you can't buy a PR Bonanza like us bringing our Family home for the Iron Bowl, THIS YEAR. Fricking peanuts. Bonanza!!!

It's just as bad, if not worse, for international competitions. When the English play the Germans, especially if it is in England, the English fans will, section by section, sing/yell "stand up if you won the war," and then all of the English fans in that section stand up.

I have messaged Steve, at least tried, to get Ms. Dee and mr. Ross to Auburn for the Iron Bowl, together with Paul. I can and will take care of accommodations,, southern, Auburn style, for as lon as they and theirs can and will come. I can't do anything about tix, but AU has at least 10 tix to bring the UK AU Fam to auburn for his game. frick soccer hooliganism, though that is the closest thing that they can try to associa with the Iron Bowl. It must all be experienced in person at JHS. The band, all of it. Beatles reference, but we get by with a little help from our friends, That's us, I have housing and accommodation covered. Next is tix, and I don't have any. The Athletic Dept. does. Let's piece this fricking puzzle together and take care of our FAMILY. Next year, Japan will be there to REP along with the UK. Let's go Fam.
