Sitting here thinking, the real cherry on top of watching the Hogs get skull drug every Saturday is also having to watch the stupid fricking dream on commercial. Makes me sick.

When I was younger the Hogs gave me pride
Now when I watch us play I commit suicide
Dream on

That song is depressing. Why do they use it?

Hear, hear. I get depressed enough watching Arkansas football. I don't need more misery added to the viewing experience.

Levels of cringe never before thought possible.
The ad is just stock campus video, barely a step over a PowerPoint slideshow of campus images.
Why not feature some cool stuff on the edges of research the university is doing. “This professor is developing cutting edge blah blah for blah blah disease” or “This program is ranked #2 in some bullshite ranking system.” Maybe some images of pretty the campus is.
Would be far superior.

Nah we need a song that steals Buzz Lightyear's catchphrase

The “You of A” one from a few years ago was in that mold and won awards I believe.
But alas I will continue to dream on.

Epitome of the soft arse, zero edge, Bentonville/Crystal bridges, “it’s a great place to live!” Bike trails are cool culture that has taken over the hill since Bert.
all started when Har-Ber killed the Fayetteville/Springdale rivalry and Little Rock Central quit playing football. Has continuously declined since.

Good call. Almost forgot about him.
Him and lil davey G bred by that loser John white.
There is literally nothing worse than career academics in administrative roles.
Paid as much as successful business leaders who have never actually lead business.

Yep. Glad the one block Bentonville square is added more places called “Something and Something” and it’s all being developed by potential donors that could tip the scales for us by just throwing a penny in the wishing well. But the nail on the head is that our state’s football culture has majorly declined and it wasn’t good enough to field an SEC team from home only ever.

He was the reason I gave up my season tickets.

The transplants that have money that are moving to NWA do not have one once of care for Arkansas sports. Very few and I don't expect them to.
But it shapes the whole area. As the population increases and the native Arkansans die off then people will care less because they didn't grow up watching the Razorbacks.
I have lived in this area for 21 years and seen the support especially in football go in a decline. It could be reasons from a losing culture to being priced out.

I don’t disagree. I’ve lived here for over 35 years and it’s sad that it’s not seen as an enhancement and attractive entertainment by the folks with money. The transplants are next level and at best root for a different team or are more excited about getting a minor league soccer stadium.

My friend is in the commercial, and he's deeply ashamed

The enrollment keeps booming every year so hopefully more grads eventually start changing that a bit.
Joey Su'a moved here from California because his mom got a job for Walmart IIRC, same with Sategna I'm pretty sure. Though that doesn't really have to do with the fans. But it does show that the growth is helping us in some way.
I have noticed that when tourism is referenced it's more likely that you'll see the Naturals listed as an entertainment option even though Razorback baseball is way more popular here. To casual sports fans moving from other states I think there is a stigma on college vs. professional sports for sure.
