Kiffin leaked call with DeSanto Rollin

The tape starts with Kiffin telling Rollins off about not responding to text messages and not showing up for what appears to have been a previously scheduled meeting between coaches and Rollins.
Rollins then says in the audio “I don’t see why you’ve got to be disrespectful” to which Kiffin replies “Get out of here. Go, you’re off the team. You’re done.”
Kiffin later adds the following: “And guess what? We can kick you off the team. So go read your F****** rights about mental health, we can kick you off the team for not showing up. When the head coach asks to meet with you and you don’t show up for weeks, okay we can remove you from the team.”
Not a good look but also cant blame him if a guy doesn't have any contact for weeks..

Having a mental health issue is no excuse for being absent. Communicate with your boss about the issues and they will understand. You can't just not show up or fulfill your responsibilities. This is a learning lesson for him hopefully.

The sad truth is that Lane trained his staff at an unprecedented level for mental health and this guy probably got the idea from that training.

Obviously they're not going to tell us his diagnosis but there are a few that would be legit reasons to miss a meeting, even weeks of meetings. Kiffin would've been told what his dx was and gone from there. It very much sounds like whatever was wrong with Rollin wasn't the kind of mental illness that prevents you from attending a meeting for weeks.
That said, if it is something like schizophrenia, bipolar, or even very severe depression then there could be problems and Kiffin would be in hot water but as frustrated as Kiffin sounds I just don't think that's what he was dealing with.

It depends on the mental health problem. A student would have a lot of rights with certain severe mental illnesses but just going with how frustrated Kiffin sounds, I don't think he's suffering from one of those.
