Will the East ever be the tougher division?

From top to bottom? Pretty much the West has always been considered the tougher division. With the winner of the East not really having competition until the seccg.
Bama and Lsu have had to go through one another to get to the seccg.
Whereas say Ga doesn't really have that strong rival/competition in the East.
Do yall see any other team in the East stepping up and being a challenge?

Starting next year there will be no East/west

East was clearly better last season. Doesn't take that long a memory to remember that far back.
UGA didn't particularly struggle against top western teams last season any more than they did against the east. They beat the best team in the west by 20. UT by conference performance was also better than any other team in the west.
UGA's gap over teams in the east is the same over their gap over all the teams in the conference.

Out of how many years?
I don't just mean one fluke year. I mean teams that will continually be a challenge to beat.

The East is Georgia and the Little Sisters of the Poor. It’s been a nice little cakewalk for the Dawgs. West has always been a gauntlet.

If Georgia had lost yesterday they wouldve needed help to get to Atlanta.
If Georgia loses Saturday, they’ll need help to get to Atlanta.

The east has been better than the west on average for about half the seasons the SEC was in existence. They had a long run early in the history of the SEC (with UF under Spurrier and UT under Fulmer while Bama and LSU had some long down stretches) The West had a run more recently, but far less often than people think when you look objectively at things.
Really won't matter after this season as the divisions are gone.

The second place team from the east last year beat the sec west champion 40-13

Well if you stack em up as a program since the 90s
Bama > uga
Lsu = uf
Auburn > tenn
aTm > usce
Ole miss < Mizzou
Arky > Kentucky
Miss state > vandy
Miss st vandy is a glaring reason. Miss state is top 40 program and vandy is like a Mac school
Edit bc Florida better than tenner since expansion

And before that? When was the last time Tenn has been good? Florida good to great?
No team from the East has been much of a challenge to the East champ.

Please tell me more about this gauntlet. Ole miss? Miss state? Arkansas? A&m? That's 4 teams that routinely suck. Auburn hasn't been great in awhile either and lsu was the champion of the division and got the ever living frick beat out of them at their own place vs the 2nd place sec east team. Tennessee was the sec west champion last year.

Has been for the past couple of years.

No one is saying Ga isn't good. Or UT wasn't good last year. But Bama, Lsu, and Auburn have kept the sec on top of the football world until GAs run.
It's has been a run of the West dominance for years.
Tbf Bama has cost Ga a couple of NC more than likely.
I just don't see any team, except GA, from the East being any kind of contender in the future.

The SEC West was notorious for processing players until recently. Georgia, Florida and the other east teams did not process with the same gusto as the west.
I look for a new processing arms race in the SEC West now that the 25 man rule has been changed. So the west will be best again.
Make the 2 deep in 2 years or be processed to Troy, Middle Tennessee etc.

Considering it will only exist for the next two months, no

True, if there were no divisions last year and the SECCG took the top two teams it would’ve been a GA/TN rematch. Instead Georgia had to beat the brakes off of a 3 loss LSU team
