Does Wrightsell have a COVID year he can use too? If so we need to pay him too. Griffen I'm starting to worry might play his way into the draft if he has another strong month. The backcourt could either be elite or thin and re-built with transfers next year.

I dont think Griffin is ready unless his shooting or handle get significantly better.
Is he better than John Petty was? I dont think so.

Wrightsell is a junior, so he has another year. Not sure if he has a covid year after that, but I think his class may be the last one.

Really need a dub tonight. Need to stay on top in SEC play. Going to Auburn will be hard.

Fair comparison. I do think Griffen has a few inches on Petty in height (6'7 vs 6'5). I think Griffen will get a fair amount of hype by next year if his consistency improves. One thing I will credit Griffen with. He is kind of our X factor in going from solid to almost unbeatable. When he plays at a high level, it puts so much pressure on other teams our offense just goes wide open.
Sears is kind of a perfect player to be massaged into staying an extra year with the right NIL and incentive. He loves Alabama, he will likely never make it onto a draft board simply because of his size, build and nobody really knows what position he really is for the nba game. All of that said, I wouldn't bet against him playing in the NBA. The guy is a bulldog and so far this year I haven't really seen any team or defense that can stop him.

He has waaaay more potential than Petty did driving to the basket. Petty had an incredibly loose handle. Griffen is also an inch or two taller and I'd say he's generally more athletic. Keon Ellis is probably a closer comparison and he's hanging around on a pretty good Kings team.

Griffen turns it over a lot, other than that he can’t light up the scoreboard any night.

Need Ole Miss to knock off Auburn this afternoon. Kentucky beating Tennessee would be nice as well.

He’s a senior on UA’s roster. He played 3 years at Cal Fullerton unless that freshman year somehow got a redshirt.

All SEC home teams winning today would be good by me

Can someone explain ESPN's BPI to me. I know it's a matchup indicator, projects the point differential and the percent to win, but what does the matchup quality number mean.
E.g, based on BPI, Alabama has a 85.6% chance to win with a 12.1 point differential and a 81.5 BPI
Auburn has a 76% chance, 7.4 point diff, and a 81.3 BPI. (Lower chance, lower point differential, lower BPI)
Georgia has a 59%, 2.3 point diff. And a 83.1 BPI (lower chance, lower points, higher BPI)
And you see constant fluctuations for games. Does the % chance and point diff not have any role in the BPI? I don't understand how a team that has great chance to win and a prediction of a large point spread would be a better quality matchup thar a team with a smaller point spread and almost equal chance to win.

Line started -9.5. It’s now -8.5.
Tells me this is gonna be a tough one. As long as Grant doesn’t get in foul trouble I feel good about it

His Freshman year was 2021 so He’s got a Covid year. Thankfully next year is the last year of Covid seasons. It makes everything confusing

Rylen aint exactly Pistol Pete out there with his handle. He has gotten better this year but he is not near NBA level for a guard. His passing isnt a big strength either. I think he needs another year being one of the top cogs in the offense. Work on his 1v1 and his passing, get stronger and better on D. I think Rylen is mentally strong. Those are the players that usually go the farthest. Look at Herb.
As for Sears, how close is he physically to Jose Alvarado?

Hopefully he goes off on his birthday

As a double bonus, today is the 23rd birthday for @AlabamaMBB graduate transfer guard Aaron Estrada, who has started all 21 games this season for the Crimson Tide. Estrada started his collegiate career at Saint Peter’s before playing one year at Oregon and two at Hofstra.

His build is probably a little thicker. I see some flashes of Jalen Brunson in him.

Seems like I’ve heard the Bama vs Samford rumor before
