If anyone thinks the deep passes are just “chuck it up” plays then it’s obvious they are casual fans.

The Burton deep shots are calculated and well thrown. Prentice got open so Milroe found him. Niblack was open so Milroe found him.

Long developing routes to get our receivers open which takes time but Milroe is better downfield right now. That’s why we do it.

Milroe is only good downfield

Entering Arkansas, 50% (602) of his yards (1164) were on throws >20 yards in the air. That’s not normal at all

Going to need to be able to sustain some drives at some point.

Is 'a lot" ...9 ..10 because it's not greater than that.

It lead to a 1 for 9 for 4yds and a hail Mary to seal the game

It's not like Milroe is just winging it up there and hoping for something good to happen. He's 9th in the country in passer rating and 3rd in yards per completion.

When he's got time and loads up to throw I expect something good to happen, because it usually does.

It’s worked enough. So far. I wouldn’t say a lot.

Yea, until Arkansas made adjustments at half time. Milroe didn't recognize them. In sure UT will come out with a safety staying deep. Hopefully Milroe recognizes it.

In the 4th Jalen was 2 for 5

His first incompletion was a miscommunication with the WR.

His next incompletion hit the WR in the hands, not a great throw, but he gave the guy a chance to catch it.

The next one was a perfect throw that hit the WR right in the hands. Benson just dropped it.

The next was a dumpoff to the RB which was caught.

His last pass was the pass to Nilback which iced the game.

So he was 2/5 in the 4th quarter. One miscommunication, one near catch, one drop, 2 completions. Not that bad really.

To include the 3rd quarter

1st pass - 1st and 10 to Benson in the flat. On the money.

2nd pass - deep throw to Burton that hit his hands but was incomplete.

3rd pass - 3rd and long and he threw it to Bond but he was hit early and didn't make the catch.

4th pass - after gashing Arkansas all the way into the red zone Rees calls a run on 3rd and 3. It was obvious it was going to be a pass b/c the lineman were back on their heels before the snap whereas on the previous runs the line had their hand in the dirt. Arkansas dropped 7 into coverage and there was no one to throw to. Incomplete. This was on Rees. Run the damn ball.

5th pass - after gashing Arkansas on the last two drives Rees calls a roll out and Milroe misses a throw to Bond. Not a good throw. Should have been an easy completion.

6th pass - on 3rd and long Milroe hits Hale in the hands with a guy draped all over him but he can't bring it down. Not a great throw, but it was catchable.

So Milroe was 1-6 in the 3rd quarter. One bad pass, a couple of close ones, a completion and one dumb call in the red zone.

Overall I didn't think Milroe played poorly in the second half. Not great, but not a dumpster fire.

Rees has got to be better in the red zone. Bama is 87th in red zone TD percentage. You have a great athlete at QB. Draw something up. Be creative. You should be able to design some plays that get guys wide open at least once or twice a season.
