Not saying there’s a better solution but that seems to be the absolute ceiling with Milroe against SEC teams. Outside of the defense setting up the offense against Miss State, that’s about it.

We’re not going to win anything of note if that continues to be the case.

We scored 40 (or 34 without the NOT) against State

We just had a bad half. It happens. We won. Let’s keep getting better.

Nah.
Fortunately we've been able to play conservatively late, instead of trying to run the score up.

With our offense now, with a 10 point lead, we'll milk it, whereas before we'd get pressing.
One reason is Heisman level QBs at the helm in the past.
And another important reason is that we finally have a dependable defense

Milroe needs to sort out his footwork to improve his accuracy. His short throws are rarely straight.
Almost always high and either behind or too ahead of the receiver.
Not a criticism just an observation.
What a great throw and catch his last pass was. Saved the game.

Until we can sustain longer drives that result in points, yes. For many of our games most of our points have come from deep balls and you’re only going to hit so many of those in a game.

You’re acting like this isn’t the norm with this team. It’s unusual if they play a complete game for all 4 quarters

Is that supposed to evoke confidence?

This team has shown flashes that it could be a NC contender and flashes that it could finish with multiple losses.

I'm taking a glass half full viewpoint and focusing on the former

This team has a ceiling around 10 wins. They are not elite anywhere on either side of the ball. It is what it is.

This defense is elite (at least for large stretches of a game)

Yes they are a top 15 defense. Good but not elite. Let’s hold off until after the LSU game and get back with me.

It's not the ceiling for a game, but it's probably pretty close to the ceiling for our SEC average. They have moments, but all in all, this offense is incredibly disappointing considering the talent level.
