I think we may have a few too many players who enjoy showering together.
That explains why they don't mind Musselman ripping them a new a-hole.

Brazile is so bad lol
I mean he’s a freak of nature in transition or if no one blocks him out on the offensive glass. We get to see that once or twice a game because our defense provides very few transition opportunities.
He can hit 3s if he stands there for 20 seconds and the defense breaks down and leaves him wide open.
If that doesn’t happen he has no way at all of creating anything for himself. Doesn’t move well without the ball. Doesn’t move well with the ball. Can’t physically move anyone out of the way. Gets lost on defense. Ball watches instead of blocking out.
I don’t like attacking specific players typically but the more I watch this team, the more I see Brazile as a major issue with why our half court offense looks like shite. He’s standing out there taking space that should be occupied by someone who’s a legitimate dribble drive and shooting threat, or at least a cutting threat.
Also, Lawson > Makhi, don’t understand why he doesn’t get more time

At this point I’ve given up on anyone over 6’7 on this team. I would just go 4 guards and Lawson the rest of the season. Menifield at PG then pick your 3 hottest hands out of Mark/Battle/Devo/Blocker/Ellis/Davenport, + Lawson.
If you out Brazile out there tell him he can suck it up and play the 5 or sit his arse back on the bench

Thanks Muss. Was fun while it lasted.
This team blows and he’s going to make the only players with a future transfer out with his nonsense.
After Florida blows us out on Saturday, this will get ugly.

Finally breaking the seal and getting to the Sweet 16 (eventually Elite 8) and then beating Gonzaga in 2022 and Kansas last year…as good as any Razorback sports memories this 35 year old has. Muss has done what he was hired to do and then a whole lot more.
Thanks Muss. Was fun while it lasted.
As sassy as I get during this season I have to remember he’s still our best chance to get back to where he has taken us. We probably all got a little carried away with expectations. Muss isn’t Bill Self or Coach K but he isn’t a loser like 90% of all coaches that have come and gone from the Hill in the last 30 years. He doesn’t need anyone to remind him that one of his teams sucks. He knows and he’s not amused.

As much as I love Devo, this season is on him to some degree. It was his job to set that tone and he hasn’t. It’s disappointing because that toughness is in him and is a potential meal ticket for him (thinking Pat Bev) and he’s just watching it get pissed away. He’s better than that.
This team has zero confidence. We stink.

Muss is squandering his NIL piggy bank. The Hunts won't want to "invest" anymore if this is the crap that going to keep happening.

This team is hot garbage right now. This is the down side of the portal. When you hit on the right guys it can work... but we obviously missed.
My take so far:
Menifield is NOT the dude at PG.... plays with his head down way too much and doesn't see the floor was well as a 1 should.
Battle has been figured out. He's hit a wall and can't score bc people have enough tape on him now and are taking away space at the 3 point line. He isn't a guy that can slash an get to the rim much.
Graham has brought some energy but he's a block the shot or nothing guy on D (So is Brazile for that matter)
Lawson plays D but is limited offensively.
Blocker needs to play more minutes... Ellis too in my opinion.
Time to see if Pinion can be effective or not. Can't be much worse than what we are currently seeing.
Mark is really the only consistent guy we have.
Devo....... who knows what you are going to get from him from one night to the next. We need NCAA tournament Devo to show up now and be a leader... so far he is not.
There's soooooo much more to say but I'm already too depressed just from what I just typed.... more later...maybe

I think they were all fair expectations.
No one saw Brazile playing so soft. Most probably would have understood it taking him a little time to get confidence in his knee agaim, but he is just not same player at all like he was pre-injury. He plays soft and scared all of the time.
Davis getting so much leeway from Muss is killing this team.
Hopefully, next season will be better with new players. The returning ones have sucked the life out this team for this season.
I wish we could keep Mark and Battle for next year.

He is a guy that can win off the dribble though. If Menifield doesn't work out at PG, I wonder if we consider giving Battle a shot there. Earlier I would've said no because he's a bigger threat to score off the ball, but as you point out that's been taken away largely

We are running an NBA style offense without NBA players. We had 5 last year and it was still a struggle. It’s like trying to run a pro style offense in football with a glorified TE as QB.
My biggest issue is the defensive end of the floor. We cannot contain the basketball. I don’t know if we are trying so hard to bring the intensity that Muss wants them to (trying to earn more pt?) that we are too close to the ball. After one dribble they are beat and the whole thing breaks down and we are in help/recover mode. And we aren’t very good at our rotations. We do get after it and Muss’ style of play isn’t the easiest on they eyes, but it’s effective when executed properly.

I was just confused as to why you're talking baseball regionals in a basketball thread. Or, you're referring to the NCAA tourney as regionals. I don't know what's going on, or maybe waking up at 3:30 this morning has me messed up.

Agree with all of this.
He's proven what the program is capable of and I'm definitely grateful but the downward trend, and now what appears to be rock bottoming out is a big concern.
I think everyone would have been fine with a down year, where things just "didn't work out". Basically what last year looked like until the sweet 16 miracle.
This is something entirely different I'm afraid but I guess still quite a bit of basketball left.
If they managed to salvage a serviceable SEC record and make the NIT, I wouldn't feel terrible, but I don't even see that right now. Pelphrey esque SEC season seems to be staring us right in the face.

Until Muss can find a big with balls this team will continue to suck.
I suppose Fall is a pussy as well since Muss leaves him on the bench.

Minefield can win off the dribble but I feel like he's not big enough to finish at the rim in this league. Being a buck fitty gets you mauled in the paint in the SEC.
Probably why Fall isn't playing much.
I'm not against trying Battle there but Blocker would be my guy. Gotta take the good with the bad with a youngster like that.

I would consider the regular season last year to be a down year with a bunch of freshmen.
This year? Missing the NCAA tournament is absolutely inexcusable.
