Kirk Kenney (San Diego Tribune) has Florida ranked seventh. He has Utah ranked 13th.
FSU is ranked 22nd by the same guy.
Notre Dame is ranked 6th by the same guy.
Scott Springer (Cincinnati Enquirer) has Southern Cal ranked 20th. He has five one loss teams ahead of USC.
Mike Niziolek has Texas ranked 9th and USC ranked 4th.

Yep, all just a beauty contest at this point. Relying on AP sportswriters to select by consensus who the best teams in the country are is only slightly less retarded than having some Grad Student vote in the name of their Head Coach in the other poll.

This isn't that bad though. USC's defense is awful and it's not crazy to think that any team w/a semi decent offense will be able to beat them.

Putting USC 4 is the issue here. Texas at 9 is fine. However, there is no way USC should be 4 if Texas is 9 considering what has happened on the field this year.

The AP poll always has some idiot pollsters out there.
Jim Kleinpeter was the all time crown king shitty balloter who was so bad they pulled his vote. Dave Preston's ballot is probably the worst one from this week if you assume the FSU/UF swap above. Dude really likes Tennessee, Maryland, & Syracuse.
