He is so done

quote:

Saban to ESPN: "We'll respond. We've got a better team than the way we played last week. I don't know if we've got a good enough team to beat Ole Miss or anybody else we play, but we've got a better team than we played last week. Texas has a damn good team, probably one of the best five teams in the country and we were ahead of them in the fourth quarter."

If so, good for him.

Step away and enjoy the fruits of your life.

We be a’ight.

Though the tide seems to be turning, I wonder if Nick has a goal in mind he wants to meet before hanging up the spurs.

I’m a Saban fan as a coach, but time and the new landscape of football are catching up.

Personally I hope he can go and enjoy retirement while he still has good health if he’ll allow himself to do it. Plus his wife and family aren’t getting any younger.

7 natties
10 SEC championships
4 Heismans

191-28 at Bama
48-16 at LSU
Zero losing seasons

.469 NFL winning%
College is becoming the NFL and he can’t control his program like he used to be able to. NIL making players pre-madonnas, Milroe being a bitch for getting benched, rumors the O Line quit blocking because of that, realizing his team is no longer dominant or has any fear of him, he might lose to multiple former assistants in one season.

He turns 72 this year and the fire is no longer there. He’s a control freak who has lost control. He’s got nothing left to accomplish. We all knew this day would come. It’s over. Well done saban. You’re the greatest college football coach of all time.

I wouldn’t say the fire is no longer there, I bet the guy works 80 plus hours a week. We all should have the opportunity to enjoy the fruits of our labor.

He's been reduced to moral victories. Sounds a lot like Jimbo

Yeah the fire seems to be gone. I remember the days of Saban almost stroking out on the sideline from a bad play when Bama was up by 40. It does suck to see some Bama fans dogging on Saban though. 6 national championships since 2009. Guy deserves a little more respect than that.

Will be so glad to never have to hear that backwoods WV slang again.

And 'I think'.

Saban's vocabulary has always been weak and tired.

Hold up, there's still 3/4 of this season to be played.

He deserves the dignity to retire and not be pushed out. I hope he has the respect for the university athletics department to not let his need to be around ball supersede the health of the program. It is clear to me that he ain’t got it. It sounds like it is clear to him now.
