Alabama losing to Texas was not a fluke, but Alabama doesn't suck. Texas is a very good football team (granted, whether or not they can stay focused and not drop a game or two they shouldn't still remains to be seen). Sarkisian has been recruiting on the OL/DL in preparation for the move to the SEC and it showed. They have a lot of talent at the skill positions; QB in particular.

That being said, Alabama's physicality was still on full display. They were flying all over the field and hitting hard. They knocked a bunch of balls loose and there were plenty of plays where it seemed like a miracle Texas players held onto the football. It was a very physical football game and Alabama made a lot of very good plays.

Alabama DOES have an issue at QB in terms of him not being a great pocket passer, but if they can figure out how to use him to average effectiveness, they will beat the brakes off of most teams. Probably not the high scoring boat races of the Heisman QB years, but they will grind plenty of teams to a pulp and win 10 point games that were never in question.

2-3 losses is the absolute floor for Alabama and it wouldn't shock me if they ran the table and wound up in the SECCG again. As a 1(b) LSU fan, it pains me to say that - but from an objective football standpoint, it's true.

I get that maybe everyone has been conditioned to the Alabama juggernauts of the past, but all this doom and gloom is ridiculous. They are going to kick a lot of people's asses this year. As a UT fan, I wouldn't want to play them again.

Alabama was expected by most to be a 2-3 loss team this year. Mayve you're right and they go on a run from here out. But coming into the season they did not appear to be their normal juggernaut selves. That was the case before the Texas game.

Maybe.

But it's a lot more fun to antagonize melting Alabama fans by telling them that they suck and the dynasty is over.

If Bama is “down” this year, they picked a good year. There’s not a team left on their schedule that they can’t beat. I wouldn’t count Bama out for a minute. I see at worst one more loss for them.

Your mistake here is in thinking that outside of a handful of posters anyone on this board is capable or interested in having a serious and impartial conversation related to football.

They aren’t, it would get in the way of their trolling.

We're going to replace him, and be much better the rest of the way.

You're right. You dont want to play us again.

College football fans commonly overreact to single game results.

The only thing that would concern me, if I were a Tide fan, is the fact that they just lost at home when most of their struggles the last couple of years have been on the road.

At times, they have looked like two different teams in home games vs away games.

Nobody really thinks Bama “sucks”. But it all relative.

And relative to Bama’s standard, this team doesn’t look like it meets it.

Alabama is still very good, but their skill players are just pretty good, not NFL draft level great.

I understand you want to dick ride Bama and want them to be good so it makes your schedule look better. But the fact is that Bama is in decline and Texas got them at the right time. This Bama team will lose 3 games this year and all of sudden that Texas win doesn’t look stout after all. But keep on rooting for Bama.
