Lincoln Riley, USC may already be in trouble for playing ineligible player in Week 0.
The Trojans' highest-graded defender, according to Pro Football Focus, was defensive back Christian Roland-Wallace. And he shouldn't have even been playing in the first half. He was ejected in the 2nd half of the last game last season. He should have been suspended for the 1st half of the 1st game.

This is one of the worst rules in college football.

How in the hell were the refs not aware? Shouldn't that also be their responsibility?
The NCAA will just let them sit him first half next week, I'm sure.
But the refs should ABSOLUTELY be aware of any ineligible players and there should be a 15 yard penalty after the play.

If Lincoln did it on purpose- good.

Game should be ruled a forfeit, USC takes a loss. That certainly is the case in high school ball when an ineligible player plays.

So stupid.
The outcome would have been the same.

Meh this is a weird one
People most likely forgot about it due to the transfer. Has this even happened before?
Either way I'd say let them suspend the dude from the next game and no harm, no foul

Good test of how objective the NCAA is. Can they be fair when it comes to one of the pet schools? I seriously doubt it. When does North Carolina get punished for creating fake classes? Maybe after their next title....

Another angle is the player knew the rules and knew he was suposed to sit out. Did he remind the coaches? Did they ignore him?
The only way to fix is to forfeit game and suspend him for 2 games. And suspend HC a game.
If they do nothing then imagine another bigger game where a team plays the player knowing no penalties will happen or can pick another game vs less good team.

What a pathetic thread. Does this really bother you?

Shouldn’t this game be an automatic forfeiture now? I know that seems unlikely, but if you play an ineligible player that is supposed to be the end result.

UPDATE: The Pac-12 released a statement confirming that all the players ejected in the Territorial Cup will serve their suspensions in Week 1. Roland-Wallace is included in that declaration.

Teams should just start doing whatever the frick they want regardless of what the NCAA says. MSU should play Spivey--the TE deemed ineligible 2 days before the first game. frick the NCAA.

He's cheating USC by keeping Alex Grinch hanging around on the staff.

Here's the loophole they're going to use: the NCAA rulebook states that the suspension will carryover to Week 1 the following season. This game was technically in Week 0.
